Abstract:
A method of a terminal for providing a video service in a communication system is provided. The method includes requesting a server to transmit first video data in a maximum available bandwidth, receiving, from the server, the first video data in the maximum available bandwidth, determining a first bandwidth for the first video data and a second bandwidth for second video data within the maximum available bandwidth so that the first video data and the second video data have differential image qualities when an event of requesting the second video data is detected, requesting the server to transmit the first video data in the first bandwidth and to transmit the second video data in the second bandwidth, and receiving the first video data in the first bandwidth and receiving the second video data in the second bandwidth from the server.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus are provided for handing over from a Long Term Evolution (LTE) network to a Circuit Switching (CS) network by a call manager in a wireless communication system. The method includes receiving, from an Enhanced Node B (ENB) of the LTE network, a handover required message for a Packet Switching (PS) to CS handover from the LTE network to the CS network, when the PS to CS handover is decided based on measurement reports of a User Equipment (UE); sending, to a Mobile Switching Center (MSC) of the CS network, a PS to CS handover request message including an International mobile subscriber identity (IMSI) for identifying the UE and a target IDentifier (ID) for a target cell of the CS network; receiving a PS to CS handover response message from the MSC; and sending, to the UE via the ENB, a handover command message.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for performing a L3 handover between CNs in a packet-switched network are provided. When a UE moves from an old RAN to a new RAN, the UE sends a measurement report message including cell information to the old RAN. The old or new RAN determines whether to perform a L3 handover. If the L3 handover is required, a tunnel is established between the new RAN and a new CN. The UE performs a handover from the old RAN to the new RAN, without establishing a tunnel between the new RAN and an old CN. Upon detection of the movement of the UE, the new RAN sends a L2 handover complete message to the old RAN. After moving to the new RAN, the UE acquires a new IP address, performs the L3 handover, and communicates with the new CN through the new RAN.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to obtaining AP information or information on a channel where the AP is positioned from a neighboring mobile terminal that has recently performed AP scanning and re-attempting to scan based on the obtained information. According to an embodiment of the present disclosure, a method for scanning an access point (AP) in a wireless local area network (LAN) system comprises performing first WLAN scanning by a first mobile terminal, transmitting a request for WLAN AP information to a second mobile terminal that has previously performed WLAN AP scanning, receiving the WLAN AP information from the second mobile terminal, and performing second WLAN scanning based on the WLAN AP information.
Abstract:
A method, performed by a mobile management entity (MME), for providing a voice call service to a user equipment (UE) in a mobile communication system and the MME are provided. The method includes receiving, from a mobile management entity (MME), a first message for paging to provide the voice call service to the UE; and sending, to the MME, a second message including a cause associated with a domain change from a packet switching (PS) domain to a circuit switching (CS) domain, wherein, if the MME receives the second message, a third message for requesting suspension of a bearer to provide a service for the UE is sent to a gateway in the PS domain.
Abstract:
The present invention relates to a 5G or pre-5G communications system for supporting a higher data transmission rate beyond a 4G communication system such as LTE. The present invention relates to a method and an apparatus for generating a packet in a mobile communication system. A method according to an embodiment of the present invention, which is a method for generating a packet from a device in a mobile communication system, comprises the steps of: generating a function-based packet and transmitting the packet to a target node, wherein the packet is characterized in that an internet protocol (IP) address is not included therein.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses for processing charging in wireless communication systems and methods and apparatuses for providing providers' policy services through the charging process are provided. The method includes identifying, by an evolved Node B (eNB), a radio access technology (RAT) used by a user equipment (UE), and generating, by the eNB, charging information per use of a communication service by the UE according to the identified radio access technology (RAT). The method includes identifying, by an eNB, a RAT used by a UE, generating, by the eNB, charging-related information including RAT information indicating the identified RAT for a charging process per use of a communication service by the UE, and transmitting, by the eNB, the charging-related information to a network entity involved with the charging process.
Abstract:
Methods and apparatuses are provided for providing a voice call service in a Circuit Switching (CS) domain to a User Equipment (UE) being in a Packet Switching (PS) domain in a mobile communication system. A first message for paging to provide the voice call service in the CS domain to the UE is sent to an evolved Node B (eNB) in the PS domain. A second message including a cause associated with a domain change from the PS domain to the CS domain, is received from the eNB. A third message requesting suspension of the service being provided to the UE in the PS domain, is sent to a gateway in the PS domain.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for providing an emergency call in a mobile communication system are provided. In the method, a User Equipment (UE) transmits, to a Proxy-Call Session Control Function (P-CSCF) entity, a first message including first information indicating that the UE requests an emergency call and receives, from the P-CSCF entity a second message including second information indicating whether a serving Public Land Mobile Network (PLMN) supports a Non Voice Emergency Service (NOVES), and indicating a media type which the serving PLMN supports.
Abstract:
The present disclosure relates to a 5G or pre-5G communication system to be provided for supporting a data transmission rate higher than that of a 4G communication system such as an LTE. The present invention relates to a method by which a proxy sets an initial window value in a wireless communication system, the method comprising: splitting a transmission control protocol (TCP) connection between a terminal and a server; extracting the information related to the terminal from the data received from the terminal; and setting the initial window value on the basis of a round trip time (RTT) value and a throughput value for each of terminal groups grouped on the basis of the information related to the terminal.
