    Abstract: A secondary battery is disclosed. In one aspect, the secondary battery includes an electrode assembly and a case comprising an accommodation region configured to accommodate the electrode assembly. The accommodation region has a first width in a center area thereof and a second width in opposing ends thereof, and wherein the second width is greater than the first width. When the case configured to accommodate the electrode assembly is formed, formation errors caused by concentration of stress such as tearing of a raw material or thickness deviations may be prevented.

    Abstract: A rechargeable battery includes an electrode assembly, a pouch accommodating the electrode assembly, a first electrode tab electrically connected to the electrode assembly, the first electrode tab including a protruding portion that protrudes outwardly from a first surface of the electrode assembly so as to be exposed to the outside of the pouch and a parallel portion that extends along the first surface of the electrode assembly, and a fixing tape that attaches and fixes the first electrode tab to the first surface of the electrode assembly. The fixing tape adheres to cover the parallel portion of the first electrode tab bent along the first surface of the electrode assembly and the first surface of the electrode assembly.

    Abstract: A secondary battery includes an electrode assembly, a battery case configured to house the electrode assembly and an electrolyte, a lead terminal extending from a coupling section with the electrode assembly, through the battery case and protrudes outside the battery case, and an adhesive layer on the lead terminal having adhesion depending on a reaction of the adhesive layer to the electrolyte. The secondary battery has an improved structure so that an internal short circuit is prevented and stability of the secondary battery is improved.
