摘要： A battery module according to the present invention includes rechargeable batteries that include a first terminal and a second terminal which protrude outward, the first terminal including differentiation portions formed of an indentation or a protruding portion to differentiate the first terminal from the second terminal; and connection members that electrically connect the rechargeable batteries, fixed to the first and second terminals of adjacent rechargeable batteries, including verification portions which fit the differentiation portions so as to improve assemblability and minimize contact resistance.

摘要： There is a provided a secondary battery capable of preventing unloading and rotating caused by possible vibration or shock by increasing a coupling force among the vent plate, the insulator, and the cap-down that compose the cap assembly of the secondary battery. To increase the coupling force among the vent plate, the insulator, and the cap-down, protrusions and corresponding grooves or holes, and grooves with step areas may be formed. Alternatively, a plurality of insulators may be formed in a divided form. A secondary battery with a reliable cap assembly can be implemented through such a structural change.

摘要： According to an embodiment of the present invention, a rechargeable battery includes a case, a first electrode coupled to the case, a second electrode coupled to the case and the second electrode having a portion extending outside of the case, a short bar electrically coupled to the portion of the second electrode, and an extensible member extending from the case and at least a portion of the short bar being on the extensible member with a gap therebetween. The extensible member is configured to couple the short bar electrically to the first electrode in response to an overcharging condition of the rechargeable battery, thereby short-circuiting the first and second electrodes via the short bar.

The electrode assembly includes a first electrode, a second electrode, and a separator between the first and second electrodes. The cap assembly is coupled to the case. The cap assembly includes a tab that is electrically connected to the first electrode and a deformable plate that is electrically connected to the second electrode. The deformable plate also includes a notch that is opened due to an increase of pressure. The deformable plate deforms as a result of increased pressure and electrically contacts the first tab, short circuiting the rechargeable battery.
