摘要: Methods and systems for providing a cold plate assembly include providing a base and a cover. The cover can be fixedly coupled to the base. Each of the base and the cover can include spaced internal ribs, which can form flow paths when the base and cover are fixedly coupled together. The internal ribs of the base and the cover can have spaced tabs that can be fixedly coupled to the other of the base or the cover. The base and the cover may also include spaced external or outer sacrificial ribs.

摘要: A friction stir spot welder includes: a pin; a shoulder; a rotary driver; a tool driver; and circuitry that performs an operation of driving the rotary driver and the tool driver such that the pin and the shoulder press a workpiece by a first pressing force while rotating at a first rotational frequency, and after the operation, performs an operation of driving the rotary driver and the tool driver such that a tip of the shoulder in a rotating state is pressed in to a first position. The first position is a position corresponding to 46% or more of a thickness of the workpiece from a front surface of the workpiece. A press-in speed of the shoulder until the shoulder reaches the first position is a constant speed.

摘要: A joining method for forming a joint structure of different materials includes steps of: providing a steel member and a light metal member stacked on each other and to be joined together by friction stir welding in a non-melted state; applying a coating to the steel member; and joining the steel member and the light metal member together by rotatingly pushing a rotation tool into a joint portion of the light metal member with the steel member, generating friction heat and having the joint portion of the light metal member softened and plastically flow under the friction heat.

摘要: The invention relates to a device and a method for friction stir welding materials of different thicknesses and that have fillet welds, comprising the following features: a) a receiver panel (1) that has a drive head (2) and a welding shoe (4) that has a pin bearing, said welding shoe (4) being selected and inserted according to whether it is being used with materials of different thicknesses or with materials that have fillet welds, b) the longitudinal axis of the spindle bearing being at an incline of an angle between 0 and 5 degrees relative to the vertical line; the transverse incline being 0 degrees for the fillet weld shoe (4), and c) when the welding pin (6) is exchanged, the length of the welding pin (6) being adjusted using an adjustment element (12) and the position of the counter-bearing of the welding pin (6) being adjusted using an adjustable pin stop (19) and, in the case of the pin stop (19), additionally secured by an adjustment screw (20).

摘要: A pair of upper and lower pressure rollers 3, 4 is disposed so that their axes 15, 16 are tilted in a horizontal plane in respective directions opposite to each other with respect to a straight line perpendicular to a welding line of a joint portion J. The pressure rollers 3, 4 are positively driven by corresponding electric motors 63, 64 to thereby roll the joint portion. Thus, steps defined at the joint portion can be smoothed and a step gradient can be reduced to ensure a high degree of joint strength. Thus, it is possible to prevent a step portion from being interfolded into the base material of the meal plates 5, 6.

摘要: A method includes the following: an incidence step in which ultrasonic waves from an insertion side and the side opposite thereto of a tool are caused to be incident on a joint part when a workpiece is joined by the tool that has a probe and a shoulder which supports the probe and that is for friction stir welding; an image acquisition step for obtaining an ultrasonic wave transmission image of the joint part using the ultrasonic waves; and a determination step for determining that the joint part has been joined if width-dimensions of the joint part obtained from the ultrasonic wave transmission image are equivalent to at least the outer diameter d of the probe and if no defect of a prescribed size or greater is found in a range equivalent to the outer diameter D of the shoulder or less in the ultrasonic wave transmission image.

摘要: A system and method of joining at least two workpieces together using a friction rivet and a friction rivet cap that are friction stirred together after a cutting tip or cutting feature on the friction rivet cuts through workpieces and is then bonded to the friction rivet cap, and wherein the friction rivet cap may be excluded if the friction rivet includes a hollow in the cutting tip, the hollow being flared after the friction rivets cuts through the workpieces to thereby create an integral rivet cap in the end of the friction rivet.
