    摘要: The battery of the present invention includes a case, an electrode group introduced into the case and a cover sealing the open side of the case. The cover has a battery electrode, an insulation panel, spacers, and a cover tab, fixed thereto. The battery electrode and the cover tab are electrically welded, and are insulated from the cover. The spacers and the insulation panel are made of an insulating material. A connection opening is formed between the introduction of the spacers and enables welding material to weld the cover tab to the electrode group.

    摘要: The outside edges of a sealing plate are weld attached to close off an opening in a metal case of a prismatic battery of this invention. The sealing plate has an electrode rivet which passes through an electrode hole and sandwiches an insulating gasket to attach in an electrically insulating fashion. The battery case houses an electrode group with either its positive or negative electrode plate connected to the electrode rivet. The sealing plate has a periphery region or reinforcement rib which is formed thicker than the rivet region where the electrode rivet attaches, and the outside edges of this reinforcement rib are weld attached to the case.

    摘要: A battery is provided which includes: an electrode roll having a positive-electrode plate, a negative-electrode plate and a separator interposed therebetween; a battery casing accommodating the electrode roll; and a sealing plate laser-welded to an open end of the battery casing. On the outermost periphery of the electrode roll is located an electrode-base-exposed portion of either one of the positive-electrode plate and the negative-electrode plate. The sealing plate is laser-welded to the battery casing in a state that a collector tab formed by incising the electrode-base-exposed portion and folding the incised portion is held between the periphery of the open end of the battery casing and the sealing plate. With this construction, the electrical connection between the collector tab and the battery casing is assuredly achieved simultaneously with the sealing of the battery to suppress a reduction in the closed-circuit voltage and an increase in the internal resistance. In addition, the battery of this construction can be fabricated by a simplified battery fabrication process.

    摘要: A sealing plate for a prismatic secondary battery includes a pair of mouths for attaching a negative and positive electrode terminals, one mouth being formed near one end in a longitudinal direction of the sealing plate, and the other mouth being formed near the other end, coining areas used for positioning of an insulating member and formed around the pair of mouths on a front face of the sealing plate, a gas release valve and an electrolyte pour hole formed between the pair of mouths, and grooves formed between the respective coining areas and the long side edge of the sealing plate. The groove has a smaller depth near the gas release valve than the depth near the coining area. Even when the sealing plate is produced through forging, the front face has good flatness and the coining areas are unlikely to have a sink mark or a shear drop.

    摘要: Provided is a prismatic battery resistant to the development of short circuits. The prismatic battery has a structure in which a flat electrode including a positive electrode collector with a positive electrode substrate exposed portion and a negative electrode collector with a negative electrode substrate exposed portion is accommodated in an outer can. At least one of the positive electrode collector and the negative electrode collector has a rib. The rib is provided with an easily bendable part (a thin wall, groove, opening, or notch). The rib is bent at the easily bendable part when force is applied to the tip of the rib to prevent the tip from reaching the outer can by means of an insulation sheet to avoid the development of short circuits between the negative electrode collector and the outer can.
