摘要: A method of measuring the number of bacteria according to the present invention includes step (a) through step (d). First, in step (a), a to-be-measured sample (specimen) including a predetermined bacterial strain (such as Escherichia coli or coliform bacteria) is added to a predetermined medium (such as a medium used for a specific enzyme substrate culture medium method). In step (b), a current value flowing through the medium added with the sample is measured with an oxygen electrode at a predetermined temperature and at a predetermined constant voltage. In step (c), time required is measured for the current value that has decreased temporarily after starting the measurement of step (b) to increase thereafter to exceed a predetermined threshold value. In step (d), the initial number of bacteria of the bacterial strain included in the sample is calculated based on the time required.

摘要: Various settings used in a process proceeding in line with a flow chart are reset. An oxygen current is measured. A slope of the oxygen current is obtained. A determination is made as to whether or not the slope can be considered to become stable. A first measuring time is determined. In order to determine the stability of the slope, the oxygen current is sequentially measured and the slope of the oxygen current is updated until the slope is determined to become stable. When the slope is determined to become stable, the first measuring time is determined. When the slope is not determined to become stable, the oxygen current is further measured.

摘要: In a system for warning a failure to wear a seat belt to urge a vehicle operator to wear the seat belt, a sound emitter is activated when a vehicle speed is higher than a threshold level and the seat belt is not fastened. The sound emitter cyclically alternates between a sound emitting state and a silent state when activated, the silent state lasting for a period of at least three seconds each time. Because the silent state is interposed between sound emitting states and because the warning is not emitted when traveling for a short period of time at a low speed, for instance, in a parking garage or the like or when the vehicle is stationary, the annoyance to the vehicle operator is minimized while allowing the vehicle operator to be kept warned.

摘要: A cryogenic refrigerator includes a displacer and a cylinder therein for generating a very low temperature. And, a sealing ring is provided in an inserted condition within a ring shaped groove which is formed at an outer peripheral portion of the displacer, the sealing ring having resilience for extending itself outward so that a sealing member on an outer diameter thereof is enlarged and that an outer portion of the sealing ring is slidably contacted to an inner face of the cylinder, and the sealing ring being made of non-magnetic alloy, thereby a magnetic noise and disturbance of an outer magnetic field due to the cryogenic refrigerator are greatly decreased.

摘要: A magnetic first detecting cylinder covers a magnetism leakage preventing member covering a first shaft. A second detecting cylinder is rotated along with a second shaft connected to the first shaft and one end thereof is opposed to one end of the first detecting cylinder with a clearance. A reluctance with respect to a passing magnetic flux in a first magnetic circuit constituted by generating the magnetic flux passing the first detecting cylinder and the second detecting cylinder by a first coil, is changed in accordance with an elastic relative rotational amount by a change in a transmitting torque of the two shafts. The magnetism leakage preventing member is molded from a synthetic resin material injected into a molding die. The first shaft and the first detecting cylinder are integrated to the magnetism leakage preventing member molded by being inserted into the molding die before injecting the synthetic resin material.
