摘要： A laser butt welding apparatus including a pair of clamp elements at least one of which is movable reciprocally along the steel strip-feed line direction and which are adapted to clamp the edge portions of preceding and trailing steel strips, a shear which is advanceable and retractable between the pair of the clamp elements in a perpendicular direction to the line and cuts the edge portions of the preceding and trailing steel strips, structure for butting the cut faces of the preceding and trailing steel strips while being clamped by means of the clamp elements, and a laser torch adapted to condense a laser beam from a laser oscillator on an off-line at a weld zone and movable in a width direction of the steel strips to be welded together.

摘要： A work roll has a regularly and geometrically patterned uneven dulled section on the roll surface. Eavh uneven dulled section is composed of a crest and concavity and is of crater-like configuration. In order to obtain good performance in temper rolling, the crest is in a form of an annular ring extending around the edge of the concavity. According to the invention, pattern of arrangement of the uneven dulled sections is determined in relation to the diameter of the ring-shaped crests of the uneven dulled section so as to obtain optimum performance in producing good quality, exhibiting substantially high image clarify as coated by paint, enamel or so forth.

摘要： A rear wheel toe angle control device that ensures a stable steering performance even when the cornering powers of laterally opposing rear wheels are different from each other. When a reduction in the cornering power of one of the rear wheels owing to a drop in the tire pressure or a temporary tire is determined, a control unit changes the toe angle of the other rear wheel in a direction to increase the slip angle of thereof, and additionally changes the toe angle of the one rear wheel in a direction to decrease the slip angle of thereof. The combined cornering power of the two rear wheels is maintained at a normal level, and the steering performance of the turning vehicle remains the same. This also contributes to a stable running performance of the vehicle, and a maximization of the total available cornering power of the rear wheels.

An outer sealing portion seals the tubular port at a second location of the tubular port spaced from the first location on an outer side of the inner sealing portion. A sealed space is formed between the inner sealing portion and the outer sealing portion. A tracer gas for performing a leak test of the outer sealing portion is enclosed in the sealed space. An amount of outwardly leaked tracer gas, which leaks from the sealed space through the outer sealing portion, is measured with a leak test device.

The apparatus includes a double-precision coordinate calculate unit for calculating, when light paths of two adjacent light receiving elements are simultaneously interrupted, coordinates of an intermediate point associated with coordinates corresponding to the two light receiving elements and a coordiante value correcting unit for achieving a parallax correction on the coordinates calculated by the double-precision calculate unit by use of a correction table.As an output from the coordinate correcting unit is converted into be coordinates corresponding to the arrangement constituted with the light sources and the light receiving elements so as to be outputted as coordinate input data.
