摘要: The present invention enables a liquid crystal display device using LEDs as a light source to reduce uneven brightness, increase efficiency of heat discharged from the LEDs, and provide area brightness control. The liquid crystal display device includes a liquid crystal display panel and a backlight. The backlight includes a light guide panel and a plurality of LEDs arranged on a line. The light guide panel includes a concave portion extending in a longitudinal direction of the light guide panel. A large number of LEDs are placed in the concave portion of the light guide panel. The plurality of LEDs arranged on a line emit light alternately in opposite directions. This configuration allows for uniform brightness distribution without forming a large number of concave portions in the light guide panel. Further, this configuration also allows for area brightness control by controlling a large number of LEDs by group.

摘要: This invention offer a rechargeable-battery controlling device and an independent power system that is cheap and low power consumption. First current is created by amplifying and copying current flow through one diode or plural serially connected diodes, and first voltage is created by flowing said first current through resistance load and converting to voltage, and switching element is on-off-controlled by said first voltage, and the switching element works to prevent overcharge and overdischarge. This detects an alteration of voltage and the device protects from overcharge and overdischarge. By this, by small parts, the protection circuit for overcharge and overdischarge can be realized and power consumption can be suppressed.

摘要: A cross section of each divided light guiding plate is formed in a wedge shape, a step is formed at a portion of each divided light guiding plate where LEDs are arranged, and holes used for accommodating the LEDs are formed at the step. A plated face is formed on a lower face of each LED, and is coupled to a wiring substrate through solder. Each LED includes a light-emitting face, a lower frame, and an upper frame. The height of the lower frame of each LED is larger than the height of the upper frame, so that a lower end of the light-emitting face of each LED can be always located higher than a lower end of the divided light guiding plate.

摘要: In a backlight using an LED, area control is performed such that the backlight is lit only in the bright area of the screen and the backlight is not lit in the dark area. The temperature change in the light emission efficiency of the LED is large. The temperature of the lit LED is high in area control, so that when a completely gray screen is displayed after the area control, the light emission efficiency of the LED decreases in the previously illuminated area, resulting in the occurrence of uneven brightness. The present invention prevents the uneven brightness of the screen in area control, by reducing the temperature change in the light emission efficiency of the LED to 5% or less, and more preferably 3% or less, in a temperature range of 50° C. to 90° C.

摘要: A CTP system is provided, which allows its continuous use even if some of laser diodes located at dispersed sites are in a non-light emitting state due to breakage or the like. In the case where some channels are in the non-light emitting state, channel-by-channel exposure data is generated to describe the way that exposure should be performed by use of specific light-emitting channels that are determined by the locations of non-light emitting channels, while an exposure head is moved also through (a) complementary interval(s) before and/or after a standard interval, the standard interval being the interval the exposure head is moved through in normal mode. Then, the transport unit moves the exposure head through the standard interval and through the complementary interval(s), during which period the exposure controller causes the specific light-emitting channels to emit exposure light according to the channel-by-channel exposure data, thereby forming an exposed area.
