摘要： An electrochemical element comprises a container and a sealing plate for sealing an opening of the container. The container is sealed with the sealing plate by welding a portion of the brazing material on the sealing plate and a portion of the metal film of the container which make contact with each other together in a state where a first electrode active material, a separator, a second electrode active material and an electrolyte are contained in the container. An electricity collector sheet is electrically connected to the first electrode active material or the second electrode active material, whichever is closer to the opening of the container. At least a portion of the electricity collector sheet extends to the end portion of the container so that the container and the sealing plate are welded together with the extending portion of the electricity collector sheet in between. Thus, the manufacturing process may be simplified so that the welding of the container and the sealing plate can be easily carried out even when the container and the sealing plate are reduced in size.

摘要： An electrochemical element comprises a container and a sealing plate for sealing an opening of the container. A positive electrode current collector is embedded in the bottom face of the container so that the hole formed in the bottom face exposes a portion of the positive electrode current collector. A covering portion is adhered to the positive electrode and covers the exposed portion of the positive electrode current collector. The positive electrode current collector is electrically connected to the positive electrode via the covering portion. A lid seals the container.

摘要： In an electrochemical cell in which a container is bonded to a cap, observation of liquid leakage has been needed in directions from four sides of the container, therefore much time and high cost have been required. The outer circumference of the cap is made to be smaller than that of the container, whereby surfaces for observing liquid leakage can be made to be only one surface in a direction from an upside of the cap, consequently an electrochemical cell can be provided at low cost.

摘要： An electrical double layer capacitor has an electrolyte included of a non-aqueous solvent and a supporting salt dissolved in the non-aqueous solvent. A pair of polarizing electrodes are disposed in confronting relation with one another. A separator is disposed between the polarizing electrodes. The supporting salt contained in the electrolyte exists only in regions proximate a surface of the polarizing electrodes when the electrical double layer capacitor is fully charged. When the electrical double layer capacitor is charged at 3.3 V for 24 hours, a charged current after 24 hours is in the range of from about 5 &mgr;A/cm2 to about 22 &mgr;A/cm2 per unit area of the polarizing electrodes.
