The present invention provides a process for producing a polyurethane foam, which comprises allowing an organic polyisocyanate component to react with a polyol component in the presence of a catalyst with water as a foaming agent, wherein the polyol component comprises at least 30% by weight of a copolymerized lactone polyol having a hydroxyl value of 20 to 350 KOHmg/g and being in the form of a liquid at an ordinary temperature, the copolymerized lactone polyol is obtained by ring opening copolymerization of ε-caprolactone and δ-valerolactone in a molar ratio [ε-caprolactone/δ-valerolactone] of 80/20 to 20/80 with a low molecular weight compound having at least two active hydrogen groups as an initiator; and the hydroxyl value of the polyol component is 40 to 400 KOHmg/g. Thus, a soft polyurethane foam excellent in mechanical properties can be produced with the use of water only as a foaming agent without the use of as a foaming agent, chlorofluorocarbons causing ozone layer destruction and further without the use of low-boiling point organic solvents inviting the danger of fire.

A molded article is produced from a flame retardant resin composition obtained by compounding a thermoplastic resin or thermosetting resin with a flame retardant composition comprising as essential ingredients a fluorine compound (A) represented by the following formula (1): R1—SO2—R2 or R1—SO3−M+ (1) (wherein R1 represents a C1-C12 perfluoroalkyl group, a C2-C8 perfluoroalkenyl group, a C6-C12 perfluoroaryl group which may be substituted, a C3-C12 perfluoroalicyclic hydrocarbon group, or a C7-C12 perfluoroaralkyl group; R2 represents a halogen atom, an N-alkylamino group, or an N-alkyl-N-hydroxyalkylamino group; and M represents an alkali metal) and a polyester resin (B). The molded article has flame retardancy despite addition of the fluorine compound (A) in a very small amount. Excellent dispersion of the fluorine compound (A) is attained, and bleeding of the compound (A) is prevented.

A cured product thereof has a high elasticity and a high strength, and finds many applications, for example, paints, coating materials, adhesives and pressure-sensitive adhesives.

The gas generator also includes two ignition units containing gas generating agents therein, and a gas release unit disposed in the pressurized gas accommodation chamber and having a rupturable gas sealing wall. A single ignition unit can be disposed in each section or two ignition units can be disposed in one of the two sections.
