    摘要: A fuel metering control system for an internal combustion engine including a feedback loop having an adaptive controller and an adaptation mechanism that estimates a controller parameters .theta.. The adaptive controller corrects the quantity of fuel injection to bring a controlled variable obtained at least based on an output of said air/fuel ratio sensor, to a desired value. The air/fuel ratio sensor outputs are sampled and one of the sampled data is selected as the air/fuel ratio to be input to the adaptation mechanism. Similarly, the senor outputs are sampled and one of the sampled is selected in accordance with another characteristic to be used in the estimation of the air/fuel ratios of the individual cylinder. The air/fuel ratio is discriminated to be within a prescribed range, and set to a predetermined value when it is determined to be within the prescribed range.

    摘要: An air-fuel ratio estimator for estimating air-fuel ratio of an air and fuel mixture supplied to an internal combustion engine from an output of an air-fuel ratio sensor. In the estimator, detection response lag time of said air-fuel ratio sensor is approximated as a first-order lag time system to produce state equation from said first-order lag time system. The state equation is discretized for a period delta T to obtain a discretized state equation. A transfer function is calculated from the discretized state equation and is then an inverse transfer function is calculated from said transfer function. And correction coefficient of said inverse transfer function is determined and multiplying with inverse transfer function to the sensor output estimate an air-fuel ratio of an air and fuel mixture supplied to the engine. The correction coefficient is predetermined with respect to engine speed and is made zero at or below a predetermined engine speed.

    摘要: A system for controlling an air/fuel ratio of a four-cylinder internal combustion engine. In the system, an actual air/fuel ratio, at least at upstream or downstream of a catalytic converter installed at an exhaust system of the engine, is intentionally oscillated at least either in its amplitude or cycle. A characteristic of a desired air/fuel ratio as a periodic function is established with respect to time such that the desired air/fuel ratio varies at least either at a predetermined amplitude or cycle within a predetermined period. The characteristic is sampled by a time interval determined on the basis of a time interval between TDC crank angle positions of the engine. Each cylinder's desired air/fuel ratio is then determined from the sampled data, and a fuel injection amount for each cylinder is determined from the respective cylinder's desired air/fuel ratios. Fuel is then supplied to each cylinder in response to the determined fuel injection amount. The actual air/fuel ratio at each cylinder is detected or estimated and feedback controlled to the desired air/fuel ratio.

    摘要: A fuel metering control system for an internal combustion engine having a plurality of cylinders. The system includes an air/fuel ratio sensor and engine operating condition detecting means for detecting engine operating conditions at least including engine speed and engine load. The basic quantity of fuel injection is determined by retrieving mapped data according to the engine speed and engine load. An adaptive controller is provided to calculate a first feedback correction coefficient to correct the quantity of basic fuel injection such that the detected air/fuel ratio is brought to a desired air/fuel ratio, and second and third feedback loops are provided for calculating feedback correction coefficients to correct the quantity of fuel injection. The output quantity of fuel injection is determined on the basis of the basic quantity of fuel injection and the feedback correction coefficients.
