    摘要: A method of coloring or coating particles, such as small stones, recycled plastic fragments or recycles rubber fragments comprises mixing the particles with curable liquid resin coating in a mixture, wherein the weight of the coating is within the range of 0.2 percent to 20 percent of the weight of the particles, accelerating the curing when needed by heating, radiation, or additional chemicals to speed the cure, and continuing to agitate the mixture in the mixer until the coating is cured. Preferably, the coated particles are recycled rubber fragments, and the particle size is larger than 0.1 mm, preferably in the range of 0.5 mm to 10 mm. The colored particles can be used as a cheap substitute colored EPTM granules.

    摘要: An electronic pillbox includes a plurality of compartments for storing different medications, an LCD-based user interface for interacting with a user, and a software-programmable electronic computer for controlling the administration functions of the pillbox. The pillbox may also include a battery and one or more types of alarms. Using the user interface, a user can schedule a multiple drug therapy by inputting sleeping pattern data and a dosage amount for a particular compartment. The computer automatically calculates the dosage schedule based on this information, and automatically recalculates the schedule if this information is altered by the user. A visual indicator on the user interface is illuminated when a particular medication is to be taken, and at the same time an audible and/or mechanical alarm may be activated. The combination of the visual and audible or mechanical alarms ensures that the correct medication is administered according to the programmed schedule.

    摘要: Apparatus and methods for transaction processing. The apparatus may be a transaction terminal including a keypad, a circuit for interacting with the transaction customer and a link communicatively connecting the keypad and the customer-interaction circuit. The cashier may interact with the keypad, while the customer (and not the cashier) may interact with the customer-interaction circuit. The link may communicate a dollar amount for the transaction between the keypad and the customer-interaction circuit. Accessories for the keypad may include a check reader, a display or a receipt printer. Accessories for the customer-interaction circuit may include a smart-card reader, a magnetic-strip reader and biometric readers. The customer-interaction circuit may include a port for connection to a remote service provider. That port may be the only remote-access port in the transaction terminal. The customer-interaction circuit may include a virtual keypad, and the circuit itself maybe programmed to capture a personal identifier number by means of that virtual keypad. The customer-interaction circuit may include virtual paper, and the circuit itself may be programmed to capture a signature by means of the virtual paper. A cash register at the POS location with the transaction terminal may not be communicatively coupled to the transaction terminal.

In this method, values of a first data type are accessed, the values being observed during each of multiple time periods. An order for the time periods is determined based on the values of the first data type. A selectable region for each of the time periods is displayed, the regions being arranged according to the order. In response to a user selection of one of the selectable regions, a value of a second data type is displayed, the value of the second data type being observed during the time period of the selected one of the selectable regions.
