    摘要: A cell suitable for use with an atomic clock and a method for making the same, the cell including: a silicon wafer having a recess formed therein; at least one amorphous silicate member having an ion mobility and temperature expansion coefficient approximately that of silicon sealing the recess; and, an alkali metal containing component and buffer gas contained in the recess. The method includes: providing a silicon wafer; forming a cavity through the silicon wafer; introducing an alkali metal containing component and buffer gas into the cavity; and, anodically bonding at least one amorphous silicate member having an ion mobility and temperature expansion coefficient approximately that of silicon to the wafer to close the cavity.

    摘要: Method for depositing a luminescent film upon a substrate comprising vaporizing into a nonreactive carrier gas (1) at least one member of a first group consisting of hydrides and alkyls of M.sup.1, wherein M.sup.1 is at least one of silicon, germanium, boron, phosphorus, and aluminum, (2) at least one volatile M.sup.2 -containing organo-metallic compound of a second group, wherein M.sup.2 is at least one of zinc, cadmium, magnesium, calcium, beryllium, strontium, or barium, and (3) at least one volatile M.sup.3 -containing organo-metallic compound of a third group, wherein M.sup.3 is at least one activator for said luminescent film. The vapor-laden carrier gas and the oxidizing gas are contacted with the substrate which is at temperatures in the range of about 300.degree. to 700.degree.C. The reaction is continued unitl the desired thickness of luminescent film is achieved.

    摘要: Display panels having at least one suspended fibrous cathode containing an electron field emitter are disclosed. The fibrous cathode is supported by a substrate (10) containing two sets of parallel rows of crests and valleys. The first set of parallel crests (11) and valleys (12) provide the valleys along which the fibrous cathode is aligned. The second set of parallel crests (13) and valleys (14) is perpendicular to the first set. The valleys (14) provide the means for suspending the fibrous cathode. The display panels can be produced in large sizes while still maintaining high quality and efficiency.
