    摘要: Systems and methods are provided for identifying a suitable surgical location and/or trajectory for proceeding with a surgical procedure based on local polarization-sensitive optical coherence tomography imaging (PSOCT). PSOCT images are obtained of a tissue region and are processed to provide a spatial map of anisotropic structure within the tissue region. The anisotropic structure is processed to determine one or more suitable surgical locations and/or trajectories for avoiding or reducing damage to local anisotropic tissue structure identified within the tissue region. The spatial map of the anisotropic structure is registered with pre-operative volumetric image data identifying anisotropic tissue structure within a second tissue region that is larger than the tissue region imaged by PSOCT.

    摘要: The present disclosure provides a conductor-less, shape-able surgical lighting system for use in surgical applications in which a medical clinician, once having established a surgical site, can shape the lighting system to selectively illuminate desired volumes of the surgical site. The system includes one or more preselected lengths of an elongate light emitting member formed of a transparent elastomer matrix material having a glass transition temperature of lower than or substantially equal to room temperature to render the elongate light emitting member bendable and shape-able. Embedded in the transparent elastomer matrix material are particles of a transparent material having a refractive index different from a refractive index of the matrix material dispersed in the elastomer matrix material so that light coupled into the elongate light emitting member is scattered and refracted out of the elongate light emitting member along its length. One end of the elongate light emitting member configured to be coupled to a light source.

    摘要: A system for producing 3D video using first and second cameras on first and second axes. The second camera has a field of view (FOV) overlapping with the first camera's FOV. The second axis is at a convergence angle relative to the first axis. A control computer changes the inter-camera distance by effectively moving the second camera laterally, and changes convergence angle by effectively rotating the second camera. The control computer automatically calculates the inter-camera distance and convergence angle based on the distance of a user to the display screen, working distance of the cameras, zoom settings, and size of the screen, and effectively moves the second camera accordingly. A keystone correction is performed to account for the camera projections, the frames are rotationally aligned, and the corrected/aligned frames are combined to produce a 3D image frame that is displayed on a 3D display screen.

    摘要: An exoscope with enhanced depth of field imaging is provided. The exoscope includes first and second sets of optical devices, the first set having a fixed image plane, the second set having a variable image plane adjacent the fixed image plane of the first set. The second set includes at least one variable device configured to change the position of the variable image plane. A beamsplitter splits light from a combined optical path of the first and second set to respective image devices of the first and second set of optical devices. A controller controls the at least one variable device to change the position of the variable image plane relative to the fixed image plane, combines images acquired by the respective image devices, and controls a display device to render a combined image.
