摘要: A method is provided for improving handover in a mobile station configured to operate a time division multiple access, TDMA, protocol in a global system for mobile communications, GSM, telecommunication network. The method comprises the steps of receiving a handover command requesting that the mobile station perform a handover operation from a serving cell to a target cell, and configuring the mobile station to transmit and receive user plane data with the serving cell and the target cell during a time period between receiving the handover command and the handover operation being completed.

摘要: A network node (e.g., base station, eNodeB) is described herein which indicates an implicit reject status in at least one of a frequency correction channel (FCCH) block or a synchronization channel (SCH) block, and transmits the at least one of the FCCH block or the SCH block to at least one wireless device. Further, a wireless device is described herein which receives the at least one of the FCCH block or the SCH block, determines if the received at least one of the FCCH block or the SCH block indicates an implicit reject status is set, and when the received at least one of the FCCH block or the SCH block indicates the implicit reject status is set and when the wireless device has a specific configuration, determines not to attempt to access the wireless communication system.

The first cell area comprises one or more cells capable of resuming the connection.The wireless device suspends the connection in a first cell out of the one or more cells.When selecting a cell access method for a cell the wireless device determines whether or not resumption of the connection is allowed in the cell based on the information from the network node.

摘要: A core network node for informing a node in a RAN about a type of service associated with an IP packet to be delivered to the node in the RAN, and a RAN node for delivering a received packet to a terminal are provided. The core network node receives the IP packet from a packet data network, the IP packet having an IP header comprising an original DSCP value, and determines a type of service associated with the packet. The core network node determines a second DSCP value based at least partly on the type of service of the packet, and adds the determined second DSCP value to the header. The core network node forwards the IP packet to the RAN node, to subsequently be delivered to a destination terminal. Thereby the RAN node is able to identify the type of service based on the second DSCP value for further processing of the packet when delivering the IP packet to the destination terminal.

摘要: Exemplary methods in a network node of a radio access network (RAN) in a telecommunication system include receiving an indication from a network node in a core network that mobile terminated data is pending for a user equipment (UE), receiving a connection request from the UE, setting up a radio resource control (RRC) connection to the UE, releasing the RRC connection to the UE, setting a release timer value to a value sufficient to establish a mobile terminated communication by the network to the UE, and releasing the RRC connection to the UE when the release timer has expired. Exemplary methods in a network node of a RAN in a telecommunication system include keeping UE that is configured for long discontinuous reception (DRX) in idle mode, in RRC connected mode long enough to allow a network stored mobile terminated short message service (MT SMS) to be received by the UE.

摘要: A method and apparatus for interrupting the lower priority packet transmission/reception for higher priority packet transmission/reception within the context of a common RLC entity is provided herein. The transmission/reception of lower priority data blocks containing data segments of a first higher layer packet is interrupted to transmit/receive higher priority data blocks containing data segments of a second higher layer packet. After the transmission/reception of a final segment of the second higher layer packet, the transmission/reception of the first higher layer packet is resumed. In some embodiments, a final segment of the second higher layer packet is encapsulated in a final higher priority data block with a remaining data segment of the first higher layer packet. The final higher priority data block further includes a transition indicator to indicate a transition from the second higher layer packet back to the first higher layer packet.

摘要: The present invention relates to methods and arrangements in cellular/wireless mobile communication systems, in particular for handling latency issues in a wireless network and power saving features in user equipment. This is provided in methods and nodes for handling communication in a wireless communication network. The solution involves receiving from a user equipment (UE) an indication of maximum acceptable response time for an application, setting relevant Mobility Management Entity/Serving GPRS Support Node (MME/SGSN) parameters and timers accordingly, where the parameters/timers are set in such a way that the maximum response time is not exceeded if power saving functions are active, and sending from the node an instruction to the UE about which power saving function(s) the UE preferably should use.
