    Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for configuration of multi-Radio Access Technology (RAT) early measurements. In one embodiment, a method performed by a wireless communication device comprises receiving system information from a first cell of a first network node and receiving a dedicated release message from the first cell comprising idle mode measurement configurations for a first RAT and/or a second RAT. The method further comprises performing a reselection to a second cell served by a second network node and receiving system information from the second cell comprising idle mode measurement configurations for the first RAT and/or for the second RAT. The method further comprises determining idle mode measurement configurations to be applied while in the second cell based on the idle mode measurement configurations comprised in the dedicated release message from the first cell and the idle mode measurement configurations comprised in the system information from the second cell.

    Abstract: Systems, methods and apparatus are disclosed for user equipment and network nodes.
    An example method performed by a user equipment (UE) includes the UE detecting a failure relating to a connection between the UE and a Master Cell Group (MCG). The UE provides, to a master node via a Secondary Cell Group, SCG, a first message relating to the detected failure. The UE receives, from the master node via the SCG, a second message indicating to the UE to perform a connection reconfiguration.
    An example method performed by the master node includes the master node receiving, from the UE via the SCG, the first message including information relating to the detected failure of the connection between the UE and the MCG. The master node determines, based on the first message and a user equipment context, to perform a connection reconfiguration. The master node provides, to the UE via the SCG, the second message indicating to perform the connection reconfiguration.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein that provide reporting of early measurements in a cellular communications system. Embodiments of a method performed by a wireless device are disclosed. Early measurements are also referred to herein as dormant mode measurements. In some embodiments, a method performed by a wireless device includes performing one or more dormant mode measurements, where the one or more dormant mode measurements are one or more measurements performed by the wireless device while the wireless device is in a dormant mode. The method further includes storing the one or more dormant mode measurements, identifying a reporting scheme to be used by the wireless device to report dormant mode measurements, and reporting at least one of the stored dormant mode measurements in accordance with the identified reporting scheme. Corresponding embodiments of a wireless device are also disclosed.

    Abstract: A wireless device is configured to operate in first and second access networks. The first and second access networks respectively provide access to first and second core networks of different types. A first wireless communication network includes the first access network and the first core network. A second wireless communication network includes the second access network and the second core network. The wireless device is configured to receive, from the first access network, control signaling indicating that the wireless device is to suspend a connection with the first access network and indicating a notification area within which the wireless device is allowed to move without notifying either the first and second wireless communication networks. The control signaling indicates the notification area includes one or more areas of the first wireless communication network and one or more areas of the second wireless communication network.

    Abstract: According to certain embodiments, a target network node for communicating with a user equipment (UE) that was previously in communication with a source network node, comprises an interface operably coupled to processing circuitry. The interface is configured to receive a connection resume request from the user equipment, wherein the connection resume request comprises a resume identification associated with the source network node. The processing circuitry is configured to determine that the UE was previously in communication with the source network node.     Abstract: According to some embodiments, a method performed by a wireless device for performing early measurement comprises receiving an early measurement configuration for performing idle/inactive mode measurements. The early measurement configuration comprising a measurement carrier list. Each entry of the measurement carrier list comprises a carrier frequency and one or more cell identifiers associated with the carrier frequency for which the wireless device is to perform idle/inactive mode measurements. The early measurement configuration further comprises a validity area list, separate from the measurement carrier list. Each entry of the validity area list comprises a carrier frequency and zero or more cell identifiers associated with the carrier frequency for which the wireless device is supposed to perform idle/inactive mode measurements. The method further comprises reselecting to a new cell and determining whether to perform idle/inactive mode measurements while camping on the new cell based on the validity area list.

    Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed herein for handling idle mode measurement configuration mismatches when a wireless device performs cell re-selection. In one embodiment, a method performed by a wireless device for idle mode measurements while the wireless device is in an idle or inactive state comprises obtaining, on a first cell, first measurement configurations for a first set of carriers comprising an overlapping carrier(s) and/or a non-overlapping carrier(s).     Abstract: An example wireless device (12) in a dormant state improves its selection of a camping cell by accounting for multi-cell configurations. Among other things, a multi-cell configuration may improve throughput between a wireless communication network (10) and the wireless device (12), based on the network (10) serving the wireless device (12) from two or more cells (24). By camping on a cell (24) that belongs to a multi-cell configuration that is possible for the wireless device (12), the wireless device (12) reduces the time and signaling needed to establish that multi-cell configuration, upon the wireless device (12) connecting to the network (10) via the camping cell. Accounting for multi-cell configurations may be done jointly, along with accounting for conventional priorities, such as conventionally-prioritized frequencies and Radio Access Technologies (RATs) and may be incorporated into the ranking of cells (24) based on per-cell radio-signal measurements.
