    Abstract: The present invention provides: a method for producing, by an eco-friendly production step, a sheet-form product that has an elegant napped appearance and that has excellent wear resistance and texture; and the sheet-form product. This sheet-form product includes a fibrous base material including ultrathin fibers with an average monofilament diameter of 0.3 to 7 [mu]m; and a water-dispersible polyurethane contained inside the fibrous base material, the water-dispersible polyurethane including both a substance having a molecular weight of 100 to 500 and having an amide bond, and inorganic particles having an average particle diameter of 1 nm to 10,000 nm. Porous particles having a BET specific surface of 5 m2/g or greater are preferably used as said inorganic particles.

    Abstract: The present invention provides a sheet-like material in which a plant-derived raw material of low environmental impact is used. The invention also provides a sheet-like material that ideally has a uniform and refined nap and a sheet-like material that is strong, has excellent shape stability, is lightweight and is very pliable. This sheet-like material is characterized in being made of nonwoven fabric that is made of polyester microfiber containing a 1,2-propanediol-derived component in an amount prescribed in the present application and a polyurethane elastomer resin containing structural monomers prescribed in the present application. This sheet-like material is also made of a base sheet, in which a nonwoven fabric that has microfibers as the main component is laminated and unified with a woven or knitted material, and an elastomer resin, and is characterized in that the woven or knitted material is configured from fibers containing polyester as the main component and that 1-500 ppm of a 1,2-propanediol-derived component are contained in the polyester.

    Abstract: A composite sheet material includes a skin sheet and a woven fabric, wherein the skin sheet is formed by impregnating an elastic polymer into a base material consisting of an entangled fiber network, such as a nonwoven fabric, and wherein the composite sheet material has high thermal resistance and high formability suitable for integral molding.     Abstract: The present invention provides a process including: (i) dissolving, in water, a polyvinyl alcohol having a degree of saponification of 98% or more and a degree of polymerization of 800 to 3500 to prepare a polyvinyl alcohol aqueous solution in which the concentrations of methyl acetate, acetic acid and methanol are 50 ppm or less, (ii) adding the polyvinyl alcohol aqueous solution to a fibrous substrate having microfiber-generating fibers as its main constituent, so that the fibrous substrate has the polyvinyl alcohol in an amount of 0.1 to 50% by mass based on the mass of the fibers contained in the fibrous substrate, (iii) generating microfibers having an average single fiber diameter of 0.3 to 7 μm from the microfiber-generating fibers contained in the fibrous substrate as its main constituent, (iv) adding a waterborne polyurethane to the fibrous substrate comprising the microfibers as its main constituent and having the added polyvinyl alcohol, and (v) removing the polyvinyl alcohol from the fibrous substrate comprising the microfibers as its main constituent and having the added waterborne polyurethane.
