摘要： A foamed, opacifying element has a porous substrate composed of woven yarn strands composed of a thermoplastic polymer-coated multifilament core. It has a dry foamed composition on an opposing surface of the substrate, which includes: (a) 0.1-40 weight % of porous particles; (b) 10-80 weight %; (c) 0.2-50 weight % of one or more additives selected from the group consisting of dispersants, plasticizers, flame retardants, optical brighteners, thickeners, biocides, fungicides, tinting colorants, metal flakes, and inert inorganic or organic fillers; (d) less than 5 weight % of water; and (e) at least 0.002 weight % of an opacifying colorant different from all of the one or more additives of (c), which opacifying colorant absorbs electromagnetic radiation having a wavelength of 380-800 nm. The elements have a light-blocking value (LBV) of at least 4 and can have a bending stiffness that is greater than 0.15 milliNewtons-meter.

The conjugated fiber of the present invention includes a conjugated fiber comprising a readily soluble polyester component and a less readily soluble component, and the readily soluble polyester component comprises a copolymerized polyester having 5 to 10% by mole of 5-sodium sulfoisophthalate copolymerized therewith and the readily soluble polyester component contains a polyalkylene glycol. The polyalkylene glycol is in the form of streaks extending in longitudinal direction of the fiber in the longitudinal cross section of the conjugated fiber.

摘要： Methods for forming a hydroentangled scrim sheet are provided. The method can include hydroentangling a scrim sheet having a first layer of staple fibers on a first side of the scrim sheet and a second layer of staple fibers on a second side of the scrim sheet to form a hydroentangled scrim sheet; calendaring the hydroentangled scrim sheet to form a calendared hydroentangled scrim sheet; impregnating the hydroentangled scrim sheet with a saturant composition; drying the saturant composition impregnated into the calendared hydroentangled scrim sheet; applying a bond coat onto a surface of the calendared hydroentangled scrim sheet; and applying a top coat onto the bond coat. The top coat is, in one embodiment, configured to provide a surface for further coatings thereon.

The pilling-resistant artificial leather is a sheet-form object including a microfiber having a monofilament diameter of 0.3 to 10 μm and a polymeric elastomer, and having a raised nap made of the microfiber. The microfiber includes inorganic particles in a proportion of 0.01 to 5% by mass relative to 100% by mass of the microfiber, and a silicone oil in a proportion of 0.001 to 1% by mass relative to 100% by mass of the microfiber. The microfiber contains a polyester microfiber in a proportion of 90% by mass or more thereof.

The process of the present invention for producing a sheet-shaped material includes the successive steps of (a) adding a polyvinyl alcohol having a degree of saponification of 98% or more and a degree of polymerization of 800 to 3,500 to a fibrous substrate in an amount of 0.1 to 50% by mass relative to the total mass of fibers in the fibrous substrate; (b) adding a waterborne polyurethane to the fibrous substrate with the added polyvinyl alcohol; and (c) removing the polyvinyl alcohol from the fibrous substrate with the added waterborne polyurethane.
