Abstract: A vehicle drive apparatus includes: a sleeve including a first peripheral surface provided side by side with a spline; a connecting member including a groove provided side by side with a spline in spline engagement with the spline, recessed radially relative to the first peripheral surface, and including a bottom surface that serves as a second peripheral surface facing the first peripheral surface; and a tolerance ring disposed in the groove so as to exert a radial elastic force between the sleeve and the connecting member.

Abstract: When a third sun gear is fitted into a fitting hole of a clutch drum, external circumferential spline teeth and internal circumferential spline teeth that configure a spline-fitted part start meshing with each other before a tolerance ring comes into contact with the third sun gear and the clutch drum. Accordingly, the external circumferential spline teeth and the internal circumferential spline teeth mesh with each other, thereby centering the third sun gear and the clutch drum, thus accurately assembling the third sun gear and the clutch drum without causing eccentricity thereof

Abstract: A vehicular automatic transmission includes a plurality of engagement devices and a plurality of planetary gear sets. Each of the planetary gear sets includes rotating elements. At least one of the rotating elements of one of the plurality of planetary gear sets is coupled to one of the rotating elements of another planetary gear set or one of the engagement devices, via a spline engagement portion. The rotating elements other than the at least one of the rotating elements coupled via the spline engagement portion is coupled to another rotating element or a non-rotary member directly or via one of the engagement devices. The at least one of the rotating elements coupled via the spline engagement portion is configured to be co-rotated with no torque transmitted via the spline engagement portion, when the automatic transmission is placed in a predetermined gear position as one of the plurality of gear positions.

Abstract: A control device for a vehicle includes an electronic control unit configured to control release of a predetermined engaging device configured to selectively engage a rotating member of a loaded part that participates in power transmission in a predetermined gear stage among a plurality of engaging devices with a rotating member of a non-loaded part that does not participate in the power transmission in the predetermined gear stage, at the time of selection of the predetermined gear stage of a stepped transmission, and control the predetermined engaging device such that an engagement pressure for bringing the predetermined engaging device into a weak slip state in a range that does not affect the selection of the predetermined gear stage is added, at the time of the selection of the predetermined gear stage and in a predetermined operational state.

Abstract: A tolerance ring is formed in an inner circumference of a clutch drum at a more forward position than a spline-fitted part in a forward direction during assembly of the clutch drum to a third sun gear; thus, the tolerance ring is located closer to an axial end of the clutch drum than to the spline-fitted part. Accordingly, it becomes easier to carry out grooving to form an annular groove for housing the tolerance ring therein in the inner circumference of the clutch drum, and thereby deterioration of machinability is suppressed.
