摘要: A battery cooling system includes a depression-shaped battery accommodating section formed at a bottom surface of a floor panel of a vehicle and dented to side of a passenger compartment so as to accommodate therein a battery. An introduction device is disposed in front of the battery in a vehicle traveling direction, to introduce travel air flow into the battery accommodating section. Here, the battery is accommodated within the battery accommodating section in a condition where a bottom surface of the battery is located at a level above or at a substantially same level as a level of a bottom surface of the vehicle which bottom surface is around the accommodating section. Additionally, the battery includes a plurality of thin cells which are electrically connected with each other, and disposed in a posture that a major surface of each thin cell extends substantially parallelly with the vehicle traveling direction.

摘要: A battery includes a battery enclosure (3), a power-generating unit (50) accommodated in the battery enclosure (3), positive and negative terminal electrodes (1, 2). The battery enclosure (3) is composed of a laminate film compounded of metal and a polymer material, and has a rectangular shape. The power-generating unit (50) includes positive electrode collectors (5), negative electrode collectors (7) and separators (8). The positive and negative terminal electrodes (1, 2) have dimensions substantially equal to those of the positive and negative electrode collectors (5, 7), respectively. Further, the positive and negative terminal electrodes (1, 2) protrude from mutually different sides of the battery enclosure (3). The positive terminal electrode (1) is formed by protruding the positive electrode collectors (5) from the battery enclosure (3) in a state where end portions of the positive electrode collectors (5) are mutually stacked. The negative terminal electrode (2) is formed by protruding the negative electrode collectors (7) from the battery enclosure (3) in a state where end portions of the negative electrode collectors (7) are mutually stacked.

摘要: Disclosed is a cell with a power-generating element and an outer package. The power-generating element includes a unit cell layer including a first electrode, a second electrode and an electrolyte layer disposed between the first and second electrodes. In the first electrode, a first collector is provided with one of a positive electrode active material layer and a negative electrode active material layer. In the second electrode, a second collector is provided with the other one of the positive and negative electrode active material layers. The first and second collectors have thicknesses such that when a conductor from outside penetrates at least two cells and a short circuit is formed between two cells via the conductor, shorted portions of the first and second collectors are fused by the heat generated by the current before the temperature of the cells reaches a predetermined value so that the short circuit is blocked.

摘要: A voltage-responsive optical sensing device such as a semiconductor device of a light emitting device and/or liquid crystal device of a sensing apparatus for sensing an excessive charge and/or excessive discharge state of a battery, such as a lithium ion secondary battery is incorporated into an inside of a cell of a cell group to form the battery. For example, with electrodes of the liquid crystal device connected in parallel to the cell and a light beam of an external light source introduced into the liquid crystal device, a photo sensor senses a change in a light-transmissive characteristic of the liquid crystal device so that the state of the cell constituting the battery can be sensed.
