摘要： Olefinic hydrocarbons may be hydrated to form corresponding alcohols by treating said olefins with water in the presence of an acidic compound which acts as a catalyst, said hydration reaction being effected at a temperature in the range of from about 100.degree. to about 300.degree. C. and a pressure in the range of from about 1 to about 100 atmospheres. In addition, the reaction medium also contains a salt of a metal selected from the group consisting of magnesium, barium, beryllium and radium, said metal salts suppressing the corrosive nature of the acid catalyst and thus permitting the reaction to be effected in normal metal reactors.

摘要： Olefinic compounds, and particularly olefinic hydrocarbons, containing from 2 to about 4 carbon atoms may be subjected to a direct hydration process utilizing a dilute aqueous sulfuric acid to treat the olefin at reaction conditions which will include a temperature in the range of from about 100.degree. to about 300.degree. C. and a pressure in the range of from about 1 to about 250 atmospheres. In addition, if so desired, a transition metal sulfate may also be present in the reaction mixture.

摘要： An electric pump comprises a stator, a rotor, and an endshield. The interface plate is fixed to the stator and is configured to couple the electric motor to a pump. The pump volute is formed as an integral portion of the endshield, thereby minimizing the axial length of the electric pump. A drainage passageway is provided on the endshield to harmlessly drain away any fluid that seeps past the pump's seals. In one embodiment of the invention, the drainage passageway is a groove that faces the stator and is configured to facilitate the evaporation of and leak fluid by channeling the fluid near the stator, which warms the fluid and thereby increases the fluid's evaporation rate.

摘要： An integrated generator, compressor and welding power supply sized to fit within a pickup bed. The lower portion of the housing is sized to fit between the wheel wells of a pickup truck bed, while an upper housing portion is sized to extend over at least one bed wall. The position of the upper housing portions may be changed either vertically or horizontally to accommodate different makes or models of trucks. The lower housing portion includes feet extending downwardly therefrom, to suspend a bottom side of the lower housing above the floor of the truck bed, and thereby permit access to the bed floor beneath the unit. The lower portion contains an internal combustion engine for generating mechanical power, an alternator, and electrically driven compressors. Ducting and baffles facilitate air flow and cooling in this portion. A fuel tank and a control panel are positioned in the upper housing portions. Engine controls, connections for one-and three phase electrical power, air connections and pressure regulators, and an air storage tank purge valve, are all available on the outside of the unit at the control panel, for ready access.
