A fluorescent layer, its preparation method and uses are provided. The fluorescent layer is provided from a fluorescent material and a calcining material. The fluorescent material is in an amount ranging from about 5 wt % to about 95 wt % based on the total weight of the fluorescent layer. The fluorescent layer of the present invention can be used in a light-emitting diode to change the color of emitting-light and improve the heat dissipation of the light-emitting diode. Furthermore, the fluorescent layer of the present invention is free of an organic resin, and thus, does not have the problem of aging (etiolation). The final product has a stable, lasting and durable luminescent quality.

A method of manufacturing an oxynitride phosphor is revealed. A precursor is sintered under 0.1-1000 MPa nitrogen pressure for synthesis of an oxynitride phosphor. The general formula of the oxynitride phosphors is Ba3-XSi6O12N2:EuxBa3-XSi6O6N6:Eux or Ba3-XSi6O9N4:Eux (0.00001≦x≦5; 0.00001). Thus pure phosphor can be mass-produced.

A white-light emitting device and its preparation method are provided. The white-light emitting device comprises an ultraviolet (UV) light emitting diode (LED) chip, a first phosphor, and a second phosphor, wherein the UV LED chip generates a first radiation; the first phosphor is composed of Zn(C3N2H4)2 powder and is excited by the first radiation to generate a second radiation; and the second phosphor is excited by the first radiation and/or the second radiation to generate a third radiation. The wavelength converting material comprises a metal haloaluminate compound phosphor with a chemical formula Mw-pAlyOzXq:Rp, wherein M is at least one element selected from the group of Be, Mg, Ca, Sr, Ba and Zn; X is at least one element selected from the group of F, Cl, Br, and I; R is one or more elements selected from the group of the transition metals and at least one element selected from the lanthanide series. Because the emitting wavelength of the metal haloaluminate compound phosphor is 550˜650 nm which is from the green to the red light spectrum, the white light mixed by the converted light of the metal haloaluminate phosphor and the blue light has better color rendering index. Besides, this invention also discloses the optoelectronic devices comprising the metal haloaluminate compound phosphor.

A light emitting apparatus includes a blue light emitting diode (LED), a first and second phosphor layers. The second phosphor layer is between the blue LED and the first phosphor layer. When a blue beam of a shorter wavelength excites the phosphor layers, the excitation efficiency of the first phosphor layer is greater than that of the second phosphor layer. When a blue beam of a longer wavelength excites the phosphor layers, the excitation efficiency of the first phosphor layer is less than that of the second phosphor layer. Moreover, the wavelength of the peak intensity of the light beam from the first phosphor layer is shorter than that of the second phosphor layer. And, the dividing value between the shorter wavelength and the longer wavelength is within the range from a first wavelength to a second wavelength.
