    摘要: A system for stimulating the healing of tissue comprises a porous pad positioned within a wound cavity, and an airtight dressing secured over the pad, so as to provide an airtight seal to the wound cavity. A proximal end of a conduit is connectable to the dressing. A distal end of the conduit is connectable to a negative pressure source, which may be an electric pump housed within a portable housing, or wall suction. A canister is positioned along the conduit to retain exudates suctioned from the wound site during the application of negative pressure. A first hydrophobic filter is positioned at an opening of the canister to detect a canister full condition. A second hydrophobic filter is positioned between the first filter and the negative pressure source to prevent contamination of the non-disposable portion of the system by exudates being drawn from the wound. An odor filter is positioned between the between the first and second hydrophobic filters to aid in the reduction of malodorous vapors. A securing means is supplied to allow the portable housing to be secured to a stationary object, such as a bed rail or intravenous fluid support pole. A means for automated oscillation of pressure over time is provided to further enhance and stimulate the healing of an open wound. A means for varying pump drive frequency and a means for managing a portable power supply are provided to increase battery life and improve patient mobility.

    摘要: A wound exudate removal and isolation system includes a porous dressing, a canister in fluid communication with the dressing, and a first valve positioned between the dressing and the canister. The first valve is positionable between an open position and a closed position. A disposal line is fluidly connected to the canister and includes a second valve that is positionable between an open position and a closed position. A pump is fluidly connected to the canister and is configured to draw wound exudate from the dressing into the canister when the first valve is open and the second valve is closed. The pump is configured to force wound exudate from the canister into the disposal line when the first valve is closed and the second valve is open.

    摘要: A wound treatment dressing for applying negative pressure wound therapy to a wound on an extremity, such as on the heel of a foot. The dressing includes a fluid manifold positioned within a fenestrated drape to form a contoured occlusive wrapping. A contoured porous pad is placed adjacent or within the wound, and is covered by the occlusive wrapping. Flexible tubing is attached to or through a port to allow fluid communication of negative pressure to the contoured pad from a source of negative pressure. The negative pressure is communicated from the source, through the tube, through the fluid manifold, and through the fenestrations of the occlusive wrapping, to the wound. The fluid manifold conducts the negative pressure from a position away from the wound site to the contoured pad at the wound site.
