摘要： A method is disclosed for reducing the variance in the coolant consumption of components of a turbo-machine, in particular a gas turbine. The components are provided with one or more holes for the passage of a coolant, wherein a surface roughness existing inside the holes is reduced by mechanical finishing. The method is characterized by mechanical finishing that is performed by reshaping rough points that cause the surface roughness using a cold working process such as at least one of beating, pressing and rolling. The method permits a simple reduction of the surface roughness without creating finishing residues that could result in obstructions of the holes.

摘要： This invention pertains to the general field of chemical and biological assays which employ electrochemiluminescence (ECL), also referred to as electrogenerated chemiliminescence. More particularly, the present invention pertains to certain classes of chemical moieties which strongly quench ECL, and the use of these ECL quenchers in combination with ECL labels, for example, in ECL assay methods which employ an ECL quencher and an ECL label. One class of such quenching moieties are those which comprise at least one benzene moiety. Sub-classes of such quenching moieties are those which comprise at least one phenol moiety, quinone moiety, benzene carboxylic acid, and/or benzene carboxylate moiety.

摘要： A wheelchair-accessible treadmill with a safety system allowing wheelchair users to exercise without the risk off steering off-course, tipping over, or rolling backwards off the treadmill. The wheelchair is secured by straps or similar means to two or more linear bearings that move along the side of the treadmill on rods or in tracks. When securely fastened, these allow the wheelchair to move forward and backward on the treadmill belt. The treadmill belt may be wider than standard, the height may be lower than standard, and a ramp may be used for access. An optical sensor may be used to determine the forward and backward movement of the wheelchair user. Wheelchair specific programs may be available through the control panel.
