摘要： A stent having one or more beneficial agents which enhance the healing effect of the stent. The agent is positioned within a reservoir. The reservoir dynamically releases the agent when the stent is expanded. The reservoir makes use of various changes in stent shape during expansion to assure proper release of the agent. Agent release can be modulated at various points along the stent and with various rates of release. The reservoirs can also be cooperatively combined with features that enhance stent flexibility, structural integrity, and which prevent recoil.

摘要： A platinum enhanced radiopaque alloy particularly suitable for manufacture of implantable and/or intravascular medical devices. A stent is one preferred medical device which is a generally tubular structure that is expandable upon implantation in a vessel lumen to maintain flow therethrough. The stent is formed from the alloy which has improved radiopacity relative to present utilized stainless steel alloys. This alloy preferably contains from about 2 wt. % to about 50 wt. % platinum; from about 11 wt. % to about 18 wt. % chromium; about 5 wt. % to about 12 wt. % nickel and at least about 15 wt. % iron.

Accordingly, a practitioner is able to selectively choose a desirable sheath, such as a polymeric sleeve, a biomaterial, or a natural blood vessel, at a point-of-use and attach it to the sheath. The attachment members may be bendable tabs and/or secondary support stents.
