A polyolefin-based molded product having excellent printability, coatability, heat resistance, impact resistance, hydrophilicity or hydrophobicity, or exhibiting excellent performance such as the performance of adhesion with metal, plastics, paper and the like, that is, a polyolefin-based molded product which is coated with a polar segment layer through covalent bonding, without impairing the properties of the polyolefin base material and without substantial delamination at the interface, based on a novel conception that a polyolefin molded product has a structure of being coated with polar polymer segments at the surface, and a vinylic monomer or a small-membered cyclic compound is polymerized on the surface; and a method for producing the same are provided. A polyolefin-based molded product having a polar polymer (B) coated on the surface of a polyolefin molded product (A), characterized by having a structure in which the polar polymer (B) is bound to the surface of the polyolefin molded product (A) through covalent bonding, and a method for producing the same are provided.

A novel graft polymer useful in various uses that has a polyolefin backbone having polyolefin segments excellent in moldability can be obtained by homopolymerizing a novel polyolefin macromonomer or polymerizing the novel polyolefin macromonomer in the coexistence of other olefins depending on need, wherein the macromonomer has at the terminal of its polyolefin chain a vinyl group whose α-position may be substituted, and the macromonomer can be efficiently obtained by a method, for example, successively carrying out i) a step of producing a polyolefin having a hydroxyl group at the terminal of the polyolefin chain and ii) a step of converting the terminal hydroxyl group of the polyolefin in chain into an acryloyl group, a methacryloyl group or a styryl group.

A group of polymers comprising a plurality of polyolefin chains and polar polymer chains and having a multi-branched structure such as a block structure, a graft structure and a star-shaped structure is produced efficiently by polymerizing or reacting a combination of various polar monomers and their polymers i.e. polar polymer chains by using a functional group-containing polyolefin as a macroinitiator, a macromonomer or a reactive polymer. The resulting multi-branched polymer has a specific shape such as a block structure, a graft structure or a star-shaped structure, and has properties of both the polyolefin and polar polymer, thus exhibiting useful performance in various uses in films and compatibilizing agents as a novel polyolefin-based polymer.

The olefin-based polymer is an olefin-based polymer comprising 50 to 100% by weight of a constituent unit derived from 4-methyl-1-pentene, and 0 to 50% by weight of a constituent unit derived from at least one olefin selected from olefins having 2 to 20 carbon atoms except 4-methyl-1-pentene, and having the following properties: i) the diad isotacticity is 70% or greater, ii) the ratio (Mw/Mn) of the weight average molecular weight (Mw) to the number average molecular weight (Mn) as measured by gel permeation chromatography (GPC) is in the range of 1.0 to 3.5, and iii) the intrinsic viscosity [η] is 0.5 (dl/g) or greater.

A modified polyolefin resin comprising a copolymer having a structure that a propylene-based polyolefin segment (a) and a segment (b) containing a lactic acid as a constituent are bonded in a block state and/or a graft state through a vinyl monomer having a hydroxyl group, wherein a number average molecular weight of the propylene-based polyolefin segment (a) is from 1,000 to 100,000, a number average molecular weight of the segment (b) containing lactic acid as a constituent is from 1,000 to 200,000, and a weight composition of the propylene-based polyolefin segment (a) and the segment (b) containing lactic acid as a constituent is from 10/90 to 90/10. The modified polyolefin resin can be used in a resin composition containing an aliphatic polyester resin (A), a polyolefin resin (B) and the modified polyolefin resin (C). The composition can exhibit excellent heat resistance and impact resistance and can be used for molding various parts.
