Abstract: A method for determining a high-density platooning (HDPL) driving maneuver which includes selecting an HDPL closing maneuver, and selecting an HDPL opening maneuver. Closing maneuver means a maneuver with which the inter-vehicle distance between platoon members is decreased. Opening maneuver means a maneuver with which the inter-vehicle distance between platoon members is increased. The method also includes testing the selected HDPL maneuvers in terms of energy consumption taking into account a predicted quality of service (QoS) of a vehicle-to-vehicle V2V communication link for the communication between the platoon members. In response to the selected HDPL driving maneuvers not fulfilling the test criteria, the method waits a time and then selects an HDPL closing maneuver and an HDPL opening maneuver and tests the newly chosen HDPL maneuver again.

Abstract: A method for supporting a first mobile station to predict the channel quality for a planned decentralized wireless communication to a communication partner station which includes sending to the first mobile station from a second mobile station a report about the channel quality measured at the second mobile station. This report includes at least one information entry about the channel quality measured by the second mobile station at a position for a communication to or from a third mobile station indicated in the report. The first mobile station benefits from the historical channel quality measurements of the second transportation vehicle. The accuracy of the channel quality prediction is thus increased.

The method also uses a functional relationship between the pQoS, the speed, the one or more maximum decelerations, and an inter-vehicular distance to determine the minimum inter-vehicular distance.

Abstract: An apparatus, method and computer program for predicting a future quality of service of a wireless communication link based on a predicted future environmental model t predicted by determining a trajectory of active wireless transceivers. The method includes determining an environmental model of active transceivers in the environment of the mobile transceiver, determining information on a trajectory of the active transceivers, determining a predicted future environmental model of the active transceivers at a point in time of the future based on the information on the trajectory of the active transceivers, and predicting the future quality of service of the wireless communication link for the point in time of the future using a machine-learning model. The machine-learning model provides information on a predicted quality of service for a given environmental model. The predicted future environmental model is used as input to the machine-learning model.
