    摘要: The present invention relates to purified platinum complexes in which platinum is coordinated to form a single N,O- or O,O-chelate of an amidomalonate. The chelates, and pharmaceutically acceptable formulations thereof, are useful for the treatment of cancer. The platinum chelates may additionally be linked to one or more functional groups which increases water solubility and/or assists in tumor targeting of the chelate. Examples of tumor targeting moieties include polymers, in which one or more platinum chelates are attached to the polymer backbone via linkers capable of being cleaved in the body, and molecules with a high affinity for receptors which are concentrated or upregulated in tumor tissue and/or the tumor vasculature.

    摘要: A microscope system for observing moving particles makes use of a television camera for producing a continuing series of images of such particles. A source of light pulses illuminate the particles with each pulse for a period short enough to stop their movement for the camera. The light source and camera are synchronized so that the light pulses occur only between times that the camera produces image-information signals. For obtaining particle size measurements, a single light pulse during a time that the camera is not producing image-information signals is sufficient. For obtaining paticle velocity measurements, two light pulses are required so that a "double exposure" occurs at the camera during a time that the camera is not producing image-information signals.

    摘要: A resonating electroplating anode electrode for electroplating the inside surfaces of steam generator tubing. The resonating electroplating anode electrode is formed from a plurality of tubular ceramic resonating material pieces glued to the inside and/or to one end of an anode tube to create a single resonating volume. In operation, an electrolyte solution is fed to the outside of the electrode in an annulus formed between the steam generator tube and the anode and returns through a hollow center in the anode. During use, the resonating materials resonate within the electrolyte solution during the electroplating process, thus creating an ultrasound enhanced-electroplating process. As a result, the resonating electroplating anode electrode and the resulting process reduce the amount of time required for electroplating, increase the production rate, reduce the residual internal stress resulting from electroplating, improves ductility and reduce brittleness of electrode-deposited nickel, produce a less porous deposited plating layer which improves corrosion resistance, and improve the uniformity of the electroplating coating grains. The resulting plated generator tubing is of superior quality and extended durability relative to currently known techniques.

    摘要: An articulated delivery system for search and retrieval tooling used in recirculating steam generators. An elongated flexible snorkel is provided with at least two channels for receiving the search and retrieval tooling. Cables along the side of the snorkel and a steering device at the rear end of the snorkel provide for articulation or bending control of the forward end of the snorkel in either direction in a single plane. Rotation of the rear end of the snorkel at the steering device provides third axis control of the articulated end of the snorkel.
