Abstract:
Fixed-length segments of a variable-length encoded (VLE) bitstream are used as indices into a lookup table. The current table entry is interpreted to determine how many complete VLE signals are in current bitstream segment. If the segment contains one or more complete VLE signals, then the corresponding decoded signals are retrieved from the table entry. Otherwise, if the segment contains no complete VLE signals, then special processing is performed to decode the segment.
Abstract:
Aqueous coating composition, useful on metal substrates which are deep drawn after being coated, e.g., bottle caps, are made from (A) a blend of an aqueous solution of the reaction product of a glycidyl polyether of a dihydric phenol, a polyethylene glycol and phosphoric acid, (B) an aqueous dispersion of a glycidyl polyether of a dihydric phenol and, optionally, (C) an alkoxymethylmelamine.
Abstract:
Methods of enabling voice processing with minimal power consumption includes recording time-domain audio signal at a first clock frequency and a first voltage, and performing Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) operations on the time-domain audio signal at a second clock frequency to generate frequency-domain audio signal. The frequency domain audio signal may be enhanced to obtain better signal to noise ratio, through one or multiple filtering and enhancing techniques. The enhanced audio signal may be used to generate the total signal energy and estimate the background noise energy. Decision logic may determine from the signal energy and the background noise, the presence or absence of the human voice. The first clock frequency may be different from the second clock frequency.
Abstract:
Embodiments of the present invention blend frames over a specified temporal window to produce a smooth appearance at a reduced frame rate. As the window moves further or closer to the viewer, motion blur may be accomplished by temporal averaging. In particular, the temporal average is used to blend image information for a predefined/brief interval before and after the time of the output frame, retaining all of the image information, but in a slightly blurred form. After the relevant image information is retained, frames may be displayed at a reduced output rate while retaining sufficient information to reproduce a smoothly moving animation sequence.
Abstract:
A system and method for attaching a related document to a primary document which includes at least one word. The system includes a processor determining whether the plurality of words in the primary document includes an indicator that the related document should be attached to the primary document. If an indicator is detected, the related document is then attached to the primary document for further processing. The processor may also identify at least one of a filename and a location of the related document to provide further functionality. Thus, the present invention substantially reduces the likelihood of the primary document being unintentionally processed without the related document attached thereto.
Abstract:
One or more encoding parameters are controlled during the encoding of image data based on a decode processing rate. By taking decode processing into account during encoding, a decoding system will be able to keep up with the demands for decoding the resulting encoded bitstream. In one embodiment, encoding parameters used for video encoding may be changed iteratively to achieve a specified target decode processing rate, which can change from frame to frame.
Abstract:
A stage lighting system has a plurality of automated lamp units which can vary the parameters of a light beam for pan, tilt, brightness, intensity and size. A remote console controller system is connected to each of the lamp units via an intelligent data link system. Each of the lamp units includes a microprocessor and a memory. Control programs for driving each of the lamp parameters are stored in the memory and are executed by the lamp microprocessor. The console controller system includes a plurality of controllers, each of which can alternatively or additionally control the operations of the lighting system. The intelligent data link system includes a plurality of signal repeaters, each of which includes a microprocessor and an associated memory for controlling the communication of data and for cooperating in error detection and correction.

Abstract:
An apparatus includes logic to control heat generation in a device. The device to operate ate leas in one of a first state and a second state, wherein the device to consume more power in the first state than in the second state. The device to connect to a network at least for a portion of time while in the second state. The logic to select a plurality of thermal control solutions to decrease the generation of heat in the device in the second state, the selected thermal control solution to be performed while the device is in the second state to reduce the generated heat to below a predetermined level.
