    摘要: A process is provided for preparing a pressure sensitive adhesive hydrogel, comprising: (A) providing an oligomeric precursor, the oligomeric precursor comprising a polyether moiety endcapped with ethylenic unsaturation, the oligomeric precursor being associated with methacrylic acid; (B) providing an ethylenically unsaturated crosslinking agent selected from the group consisting of difunctional ethylenically unsaturated monomer, trifunctional ethylenically unsaturated monomer and combinations of the foregoing; (C) free radically curing the oligomeric precursor and the ethylenically unsaturated crosslinking agent in water at a pH between about 3.5 and about 9 to provide the pressure sensitive adhesive hydrogel.

    摘要: A conductive adhesive composition is provided and articles that include the adhesive composition as a component thereof. The conductive adhesive composition comprises: (a) pressure sensitive adhesive; (b) electrolyte comprising water soluble or water dispersible organic chloride; and (c) humectant. In some embodiments, the conductive adhesive composition is a bicontinuous composition comprising an aqueous phase and an oil phase, and the bicontinuous composition may be derived from a polymerizable microemulsion composition, the microemulsion composition comprising: an aqueous phase comprising one or more hydrophilic monomers or oligomers and/or one or more amphiphilic monomers or oligomers in water, the water-soluble or water-dispersible organic chloride, surfactant and humectant; and an oil phase comprising one or more hydrophobic monomers or oligomers. Biomedical articles such as biomedical electrodes, may incorporate the foregoing adhesive as a component.

The system can include a sensor adapted to create a signal based on a physiological characteristic from a subject, and a hub adapted to receive the signal from the sensor. The signal can include at least one of an electromagnetic signal, an electrical signal, an acoustic signal, a mechanical signal, a thermal signal, and a chemical signal. The system can further include a connector adapted to couple the sensor and the hub, the connector having a variable length, such that the sensor and the hub can be positioned a variable distance apart by changing the length of the connector. The connector can be adapted to provide a pathway between the sensor and the hub for the signal. A method of applying a biomedical sensor system to a subject can include changing the length of the variable-length connector to provide an appropriate distance between the sensor and the hub, and coupling the sensor to the subject.

    摘要: Organically soluble intrinsically conductive polymer compositions having enhanced electrical conductivity are produced by adding a hygroscopic, water-insoluble plasticizer to an organically soluble intrinsically conductive polymer salt. Polymer blends containing such compositions are also produced by blending a matrix polymer with the plasticizer/ICP salt compositions. Methods for enhancing the electrical conductivity of an organically soluble intrinsically conductive polymer salt provide for the addition of a hygroscopic, water-insoluble plasticizer to an organically soluble intrinsically conductive polymer salt.
