    摘要: A battery pack comprises a plurality of electrochemical cells and a housing. The cells have similar shape and size. The shape is a rectangular prism with opposing major faces. The cells are aligned in a stack along an axis of the pack so that one of the major faces of each cell contacts the major face of the adjacent cell. The housing comprises a top portion and a bottom portion. The top portion comprises a top plate and four side plates joined to the top plate so as to form a cavity with an opening. The cross-sectional area of the opening is at least slightly larger than the cross-sectional area of the stack, and the cross-sectional area of the cavity in a plane closer to the top plate is sized so that the stack fits snugly therein. The battery stack is disposed in the housing. The bottom portion closes the opening.

Multiple battery pack housings are provided to house the plurality of cells. Each battery pack housing facilitates electrical connection to one or more other battery pack. The system also includes a compartment containing the multiple battery packs in their housings. The compartment facilitates electrical connection to the motor/generator.

    摘要: An electrochemical storage cell is disclosed that comprises a core and a rectangular shell that receives the core snugly therein. The rectangular shell has first and second open ends. A first end cap is used to close the first open end. An anode terminal extends through the first end cap from an interior portion of the electrochemical storage cell to an external portion thereof. A first gasket is secured within the rectangular shell between the first end cap and the core to resiliently hold the core away from the first end cap. A second end cap is used to close the second open end. A cathode terminal extends through the second end cap from an interior portion of the electrochemical storage cell to an external portion thereof. A second gasket is secured within the rectangular shell between the second end cap and the core to resiliently hold the core away from the second end cap.

    摘要: A safety valve for battery has a valve body (1) and a valve core (2). The valve body (1) is fixed on a cover plate (4) of a battery and covers a discharging hole (9) in the cover plate (4) of the battery. The valve body (1) is formed with an exhaust opening (3) which is communicated with an internal space of the valve body (1). The valve core (2) is elastically held between a top cover (11) of the valve body (1) and the cover plate (4) of the battery. A plurality of columns (6) are arranged at intervals along a circumference of a gap between a side wall of the valve core (2) and an inner wall of the valve body (1). A cavity defined by every two adjacent columns (6), the side wall of the valve core (2) and the inner wall of the valve body (1) forms as a side exhaust slot (7) which is communicated with the exhaust opening (3) in the valve body (1).
