摘要: A system and method for providing digital AV signal to multiple displays where the digital AV signal is displayed simultaneously and sychronized. Exemplary embodiments utilize serializers, de-serializers, and clock cleaners to transmit the data to a chain of display nodes. The display nodes convert the serial data stream into a parallel data stream. The parallel data stream is de-jittered and used to drive a display and optional audio system. The parallel data stream is then converted back into a serial data stream and sent to the next display node in the chain. A clock present in the data stream allows synchronization of all the displays in the chain. A distribution display node may be used at any display node location to increase the number of chains in the data delivery system.

摘要: A system and method for maintaining similar optical performance over two electronic displays. A color light sensor is placed in front of the viewable area of each electronic display and is used to measure one or more optical properties in order to balance the two (or more) electronic displays. The user may be notified when a display is malfunctioning or the displays are not performing within acceptable ranges. The display may store optical data locally for later retrieval by the user. The user may access the optical data through a network connection with the display. One or more displays may be placed adjacent to one another and their optical properties may be measured and balanced so that the displays match one another or can be used as a harmonious array.

摘要: An electronic display which can be serviced without having to remove the display from its mounted position. A front housing and a rear housing are hingedly attached so that the front housing can rotate and allow access to the interior of the display. An axial force mechanism can be used to aid in rotating the front housing to an open position. A locking collar, support member, or axial locking member may be used to ensure that the front housing remains open. A removable front glass assembly or removable glass panel may be used with an exemplary embodiment. The front glass assembly or glass panel can be easily replaced if it becomes damaged by minimally-trained personnel. Gutters may be used between the front and rear housing as well as the front housing and front glass assembly to ensure an adequate seal against contaminates.

摘要: A light emitting diode (LED) circuit having a plurality of LEDs electrically connected in series with a zener diode electrically connected to each LED in parallel. If an LED were to fail, the current can be routed around the failed LED, through the zener diode, and continue through the rest of the LEDs in the series connection. Thus, a failure in one LED does not cause the entire series string to lose their illumination. Some embodiments may place several LED strings in parallel with one another. Exemplary embodiments may mount the LCDs on a metal core printed circuit board (PCB). Further embodiments may place a thin metallic sheet or metallic surface on the rear surface of the PCB and in thermal communication with the PCB and/or LEDs.

摘要: An LED circuit using a combination of series and parallel arrangements for optimum current sharing between LEDs. The current paths allow an LED to fail while minimizing the effect on other LEDs and noticeable luminance variance across the circuit. Some embodiments use metallic PCB technology which permits optimal thermal regulation of heat generated by the LEDs. Exemplary embodiments can be used with a single-layer PCB where only one layer of conducting material must be placed on the substrate. This results in a thinner, lighter, and cheaper assembly. The rear surface of the PCB may contain heat sinks or fins and may have air (or other gaseous matter) moved across the surface and/or heat sinks to facilitate cooling of the assembly. An LCD assembly using the same is also disclosed.

摘要: A preferred embodiment relates to controlling the amount of backlight in an electronic display to account for the temperature in the backlight cavity. Another embodiment relates to a system for controlling the amount of backlight based on both the temperature in the backlight cavity and the amount of ambient light. The embodiments are especially useful in electronic displays which are subjected to cold or warm temperatures and displays which are placed in very bright environments. Exemplary embodiments allow the display to remain visible, while avoiding possible damage due to high levels of heat or cold.

摘要: An electronic display assembly where the components can be removed and serviced or replaced without having to remove the display from its position. A backplane may be in electrical communication with the image producing assembly and may contain a plurality of blind mate connectors. Various electronic assemblies may be connected to the blind mate connectors. An access panel may provide access to the electronic assemblies so that they can be removed from the housing. N+1 power supplies may be used so that if one fails the unit would continue to operate until the failed power supply could be replaced. The electronic assemblies may be removed from the left side, right side, top, or bottom surfaces of the display housing. Any flat panel electronic display may be used.
