    摘要: Method and apparatus for suppressing differential and common mode conducted electromagnetic interference emission in electrical equipment powered from a grounded A.C. line source without creation of a shock hazard. Differential mode interference is suppressed by connecting a capacitor across the power lines and common mode interference is suppressed by an inductor inserted in the ground lead, both positioned within the equipment case or housing. The capacitor and inductor can have substantially fixed values for a wide range of equipment. In the preferred embodiment, the inductor is constructed by winding a few turns of the ground lead itself through a high permeability, ferrite toroid positioned within the case or housing.

    摘要: A metal composite comprising a substrate having a uniformly, mildly etched surface of an aluminum alloy, e.g. an alloy, consisting of at least about 99 wt. % aluminum, and the balance comprising specified quantities of silicon, iron, copper, manganese and zinc, and a uniformly adhering, electrocathodically deposited copper foil. The resulting peel strength between the aluminum alloy surface and the copper foil, after lamination of the composite to a resinous substrate under heat and pressure is within the range of from about 6 to about 8 lbs./in. of width of copper foil. This can be reduced to a value within the range of about 0.3 to about 2 lbs./in. of width by overplating the copper foil with a layer of zinc or indium. The resinous substrate may be a glass fiber reinforced epoxy resin, such as is used in the manufacture of printed circuit boards.

    摘要: The method of preparing dried asymmetric cellulose acetate blend membranes through the use of at least one drying agent which is a hydrophobic organic compound, such as polysiloxanes, hydrocarbons, ethers, ketones, chlorohydrocarbons or nitrohydrocarbons. The membranes are dried from their aqueous state by direct evaporation of water. The resulting air dried membranes are suitable for the desalination of water by reverse osmosis, non-aqueous liquid separation, ultrafiltration, pervaporation, and for the separation of various gaseous mixtures into their constituent parts.

    摘要: In fabricating a reverse osmosis spiral wound apparatus for the separation of organic fluid mixtures, especially for the separation of dewaxing solvents containing ketone from dewaxed oil by permeation through a permeable membrane such as pretreated regenerated cellulose or asymmetric polyimide a special epoxy adhesive formulation is used to form the membrane element edge seals which serve to define separate permeate zones and feed stream zones. This special adhesive formulation is characterized by having a relatively long pot life, (i.e. will not set too quickly) permitting it to be easily handled during application to the membrane edges in the course of element fabrication, as well as being flexible (trimable) and of proper viscosity.
