In one embodiment, the HVAC data processing and communication network includes a system device, a subnet controller and a user interface. The system device is configured to receive a control message from a data bus and operate according to a control setting communicated thereby. The system device is further configured to generate an alarm message in the event that the device enters an alarm state in response to an alarm condition. The user interface is configured to receive the alarm message and display alarm information in response to the message. The subnet controller is configured to provide operational control of the system device via the control message. The operational control is decoupled from the alarm message.

In one embodiment, the HVAC data processing and communication network includes a system device, a subnet controller and a user interface. In an embodiment, the network includes configuring a first system device and a subnet controller. The first system device is configured to receive an initial value of a specified dependent parameter. The subnet controller is configured to determine that a value of said specified parameter has been changed to a modified value after said first system device receives said initial value. The subnet controller is further configured to send to said first system device, in response to said determining, a message updating said specified parameter with said modified value.

The blower is configured to receive a control message from a data bus. The duct is configured to direct air flow from the blower. The controller is configured to publish the control message to the data bus. The controller thereby commands the blower to provide air to the duct at an initial volume rate and to increase the volume rate until the controller detects onset of a cutback mode of the blower.
