    摘要: 6-methoxy gossypol and 6,6′-dimethoxy gossypol were isolated from cottonseeds. Bioactivities of these two gossypol derivatives and gossypol were investigated regarding their antioxidant activities, DNA damage prevention ability, anti-cancer, and anti-trypanosomal activities. Both methoxy compounds had nearly equivalent bioactivities, but gossypol showed greater bioactivities than either methoxy derivative on free radical scavenging activity, reducing power, and DNA damage prevention ability. Gossypol and its methoxy derivatives inhibited growth of three cancer cell lines, i.e., SiHa (cervical cancer), MCF-7 (breast cancer) and Caco-2 (colon cancer) cells, in a dose dependent manner. These three compounds also significantly inhibited growth of trypanosome T. brucei, the cause of African Sleeping Sickness, which affects thousands in western and central Africa.

    摘要: An assay system is provided in which gossypol is used as a biological marker to detect evolved resistance of insects to Bt cotton. Detection of gossypol using a monoclonal antibody ELISA-based protocol enables at risk populations of insects to be evaluated for evolved resistance to Bt present in a genetically modified cotton.The specificity of the monoclonal antibody to gossypol also enables the production of nanoparticles having a conjugated monoclonal antibody which retains the ability to selectively bind gossypol. Accordingly, nanoparticles can be provided with additional target ligands, such as antibodies, so as to specifically attach to tumors or cancer cells thereby delivering the gossypol to the target cells.

A known antibody to the antigen or other entity is employed and is conjugated to a functionalized nanoparticle. Because of the high surface area presented by the present nanoparticle—antibody conjugates, the present radioimmunoassay method is particularly suited for the qualitative and quantitative analysis of low molecular weight chemicals.

    摘要: The present invention provides a clock and data recovery circuit, including an n-phase clock, a sampling and edge detection unit, an edge determination unit, a clock picking unit and a data picking unit. The sampling and edge detection unit performs spaced sampling on the input serial data using the n-phase clock, and performs edge detection and resampling on the sampled data. The edge determination unit filters the resampled data by the counting units, and obtains the positions of the edges of the serial data according to the counting result of the counting units. The clock picking unit selects a clock from the n clocks that is the farthest away from the edges as the recovered clock. The data picking unit obtains the recovered data according to the recovered clock. The present invention also provides a parallel output circuit.

    摘要: Storage class memory may be used in an architecture to achieve high performance, high reliability, high compatibility. In some embodiments, reads may be handled in a conventional way used in a memory based model. However writes do not use a memory based model but instead correspond to a storage based model. The hybrid nature can be achieved by setting the storage class memory to be write protected so that all writes must go through a software based block device interface. In some embodiments, the software based block device interface prevents erroneous writes to the storage class memory.
