摘要: A highly sensitive movable touchpad is disclosed in the present invention. It is used for laptop computers and has a slidable template for users to move so that a cursor can be controlled by the touchpad. A resistive or capacitive detecting surface can be applied for detecting users' click, double click, drag, or scroll motion on any point of the surface. Additionally, there is an optical displacement sensor provided under the slidable template for detecting surface information on the back surface of the slidable template. A sequence of images of surface movement are processed by an image processing unit. Then, relative movement information is calculated and sent to an operating system in the computer. The operating system controls the cursor with the relative movement information. The present invention uses edge detectors for dynamically controlling the cursor and calibrating location of the cursor so that positioning of the touchpad is synchronous with the cursor.

摘要: A method and system for positioning by using optical speckle are disclosed in this invention. A highly coherent laser light irradiates a positioning template in advance to record optical speckles caused by interference by scattered light beams from the positioning template for establishing a speckle database. Furthermore, a reference point is defined to position each recorded speckle. Therefore, a coordinate with respect to the reference point corresponding to a specified speckle can be used to position a target or applied to distance measurement by the speckle database. The precision of the speckles according to the present invention is within several micrometers. Hence, it can provide high precision positioning.

摘要: A cooling tower for automatically adjusting flow rates of cooling water and cooling air with variations of a load comprises a plurality of thermometers; a hygrometer; at least one controllers; a cooling water pump; and at least one cooling towers connected in parallel. The desired data, such as optimum allowance operating range, heat transferring property of cooling towers, outer gas bulb temperature, approach and relations therebetween are calculated numerically and then are built in the controller. As the cooling tower is operated, by the measuring of the thermometer, messages are transferred to the controller, the practical data and predetermined data are compared in the controller so as to acquire an optimum cooling water flow and cooling air flow. Then, the controllers are used to control the cooling fan in the cooling pump and cooling towers. Thus, an optimum flow rate is acquired. Therefore, the power is saved. The flow rate of the present invention is changed with the load of the ice water mainframe. Only the flow rate of the cooling air is adjusted, but also the flow rate of cooling water is adjusted. The power of the cooling towers is saved greatly.

摘要: The present invention relates to a cable spool with a damping brake, which has a modified central supporting axle with a combination of circular and square parts. The circular sectional part of the supporting axle is used for supporting the spool and the brake disk, the square sectional part at the axle end is used for fixing the brake clamps and for supporting to a fixture. The square sectional part at the middle of the axle will be mounted with a brake holder having square axle hole and a brake shoe. The brake force can be adjusted by a spring. During operation, the cable spool is pulled by an external force to release the cable, and a spool rib will immediately drive the brake disk, while the brake disk will be braked by the brake holder and the brake shoe. Once the external force stops pulling, the cable spool will stop rotating due to the brake force from the brake shoe. Therefore, the cable remaining on the spool will not release continually. No external power is needed to stop the spool. The working time and manpower are also reduced. Any danger that can occur by means of a manual braking is therefore prevented.
