摘要： Apparatus and a method are provided, which efficiently and properly execute information update processing and content reproduction processing based on transmission processing of content information from a server to a client. The server owning content attribute information extracts metadata based on an information acquisition request from the client, to generate the content information based on property information which is a component of the metadata, and for each property, sets data editing information allowed by each piece of the property information to transmit to the client. Furthermore, the server generates the content information including data mode information by which processing capability in a device on the client side can be judged, such as record quality level information and codec information, as the data mode information of the contents.

摘要： To provide an automatic image adjustment device that can automatically detect the display positions, display state, and the like of a test pattern displayed on a screen, the imaging angles of the mirror to image an adjustment pattern displayed at the positions corresponding to the vertices of a relatively small rectangle on a screen are first detected. According to the detected imaging angles, the CPU calculates the imaging angles for imaging the adjustment points at the four corners of the screen. Then, on the basis of the imaging angles for the adjustment points at the four corners, the imaging angles for the remaining adjustment points are calculated. Afterwards, the test pattern, such as the one used for convergence adjustment, can be displayed successively at the adjustment points, and the test pattern at each of the adjustment pattern can be imaged by the camera with the mirror being automatically set at the corresponding imaging angle. Thus, information on the display position, display states and the like of the test pattern can be automatically obtained and analyzed.

An image content providing server stores, as property information, original angle information indicating correct directions of image content as metadata of the image content. This allows the client to understand the correct direction of the image content received from the server, and to obtain and display image data in the correct direction by performing rotation processing in the client device based on the obtained information or to request the server to perform the rotation processing.

摘要： There are provided an apparatus and method that generate a MAC list that serves as an access control list efficiently without burdening a user. A MAC list registration processing request packet is automatically transmitted by using as a trigger either a power-on process of the power source of a client apparatus connected to a network or an activation process of a specific application, e.g., an execution application for services using a home network. A server performs a registration process by acquiring information such as a MAC address from the received packet in accordance with a state of empty slots in the MAC list. According to this configuration, it is possible to easily and correctly generate the MAC list, which serves as the access control list, without burdening a user.

The content providing server sets content-associated unique identifier information as property information that is a component of content-associated metadata, maintains the unique identifier information as content-associated metadata without changing the unique identifier information even if the logical/physical position of a content stored in the storage unit is changed, and maintains a setting value of unique identifier information, which is set associated with a received content, as metadata associated with the received content without changing the setting value of the unique identifier information. By this configuration, even if a content is moved between servers, a client can acquire the content based on the unique identifier.

摘要： An apparatus and a method which enable to execute different access controls based on setting modes are realized. A MAC address table in which a manually registered client MAC address and an automatically registered client MAC address are registered in forms to be able to distinguish each other is set. If an access control mode is an automatic registration access control mode, a MAC addresses of an access requesting client is registered until the number of the MAC address reaches a defined limit number of registration: N of the MAC address table, and the access is allowed under the condition of the registration; or if the access control mode is a registered device access control mode, the access is allowed under the condition that the client MAC address is registered in the MAC address table as the manually registered MAC address.

摘要： The present invention provides an apparatus and method capable of efficiently sending an event corresponding to content to be transmitted from a server to each client. A content providing server assigns a session ID to each client on condition that the server receives an event notification request, which specifies an event URL, from the client and then manages an event notification process on the basis of the event URL and the session ID. When respectively transmitting pieces of content to a plurality of clients, the server determines event information to be transmitted on the basis of each event URL regarding the corresponding piece of content and controls event notification timing for each client on the basis of the corresponding session ID. According to the present configuration, the load of managing data in the event notification process on the server can be reduced and a correct event synchronized with transmission content can be sent to each client.
