    摘要: An optical disc that has a recognition mark area behind a recorded area and in which the last data in the recorded area is stably accessed, the recognition mark area can be accessed without bringing about an abnormal state, and the first data in a succeeding recorded area, if it exists, is stably accessed. An unrecorded area (5) is provided outside the recorded area (4) of the optical disc (1). A mark area (6) is provided between the recorded area (4) and unrecorded area (5). A recognition mark area (6d) is provided in the mark area (6) in order to recognize the boundary between the recorded area (4) and the unrecorded area (5). In the mark area (6), first and second buffer areas (6b and 6c) are provided respectively in front of and behind the recognition mark area (6d). The width of the first buffer area (6b) is preset to be wider than the access error when the last data (4a) in the recorded area (4) is accessed, and the width of the second buffer area (6c) is preset to be wider than the access error when the recognition mark area (6d) is accessed.

    摘要: In a tracking control apparatus of a recording and reproducing apparatus for an optical disk, information is recorded in groove tracks and land tracks of the optical disk and address information is recorded in an address area arranged to each of the groove tracks and the land tracks, a control signal corresponding to a positional deviation between a light beam spot and a track is derived on the basis of light reflected from the optical disk, and hence an address period in which the light beam spot traces the address area is derived. When the light beam spot traces the land track, a tracking operation is performed by a control signal which is invert in polarity to that of groove track, and when the light beam spot traces the address area, the tracking control is performed by a signal of the same polarity as that of the groove track.

    摘要: An apparatus of the present invention is an optical disk apparatus for irradiating a track on an information carrier on which information is recorded with a light beam so as to reproduce information from the track. The optical disk apparatus includes: a tracking error detector for detecting a tracking error signal representing a displacement between the light beam and the track; a fine movement section for moving the light beam in a substantially radial direction of the information carrier; a coarse movement section for moving the fine movement section in the substantially radial direction of the information carrier; a tracking controller for controlling the fine movement section and the coarse movement section based on the tracking error signal detected by the tracking error detector so that the light beam is positioned along the track; and an eccentricity detector for detecting an amount of eccentricity of the track on the information carrier. The tracking controller controls the coarse movement section based on the amount of eccentricity detected by the eccentricity detector.
