摘要: A brain cooling apparatus is provided that can circulate a fluid between a containing unit of a brain cooling device and the brain cooling apparatus while maintaining an appropriate pressure of the fluid in the containing unit, and a brain cooling device suitable thereto also is provided. A control device circulates a physiological saline solution between a storage tank and a cuff by driving a first pump in a direction in which the physiological saline solution flows toward the cuff, and driving a second pump in a direction in which the physiological saline solution flows toward the storage tank. In this state, the control device adjusts the rotation speed of at least the second pump, so that the pressure of the physiological saline solution in the cuff becomes a preset target pressure.

摘要: A brain cooling device is provided to cool the brain sufficiently to the subcortical tissue in a short time. The device includes a cuff (3) capable of storing therein a cooled fluid and placeable in the esophagus (H1) of the patient (H) when inserted orally or transnasally. A tube (2) extends from the cuff (3) for infusing the fluid into the cuff (3) placed in the esophagus (H1) from outside the body of the patient H and discharging the fluid from the cuff (3). The cuff (3) has flexibility so as to inflate or deflate in response to infusion or discharge of the fluid and is configured in such a manner that when the fluid is infused therein while placed in the esophagus (H1), the cuff (3) that has been inflated comes into close contact with the inner wall (H4) of the esophagus (H1).

摘要: The present invention provides a bilirubin reducing means which can minimize a risk such as the onset of an infection or the occurrence of blood coagulation and can reduce physical, temporal and economical burdens imposed on a patient suffering from liver dysfunction. A bilirubin denaturating apparatus includes a dialyzing portion which has a dialyzing column for performing dialysis of blood using hollow fibers incorporated therein; an infusion supply portion which supplies an infusion used for dialysis in the dialyzing portion to the dialyzing portion; and a blood circulating portion which feeds blood to the dialyzing portion and returns the blood dialyzed by the dialyzing portion, wherein the dialyzing portion includes a radiation means which radiates green light to the hollow fibers, and the radiation means radiates the green light to the hollow fibers for converting fat-soluble bilirubin in the blood flowing in the inside of the hollow fibers into water-soluble bilirubin thus eluting the water-soluble bilirubin in the infusion.
