摘要： A self-contained type automatic belt tensioner adjusts a tension of an engine timing belt for automobiles. The tensioner comprises a body, a plunger slidably mounted in the body, a reservoir chamber located in the plunger, a pressure chamber disposed between the plunger and a closed wall of the body, a rod member fixed to the plunger, a bellows shaped elastic diaphragm located in the reservoir chamber with one end thereof being fixed to the rod member and the other end being fixed to the body, a check valve allowing a fluid flow only from the reservoir chamber to the pressure chamber, and a return spring interposed between the plunger and the closed wall of the body so as to bias said plunger in the direction of the rod member.

摘要： A balancing apparatus for suppressing engine vibrations is disclosed. The balancer apparatus includes a helical drive gear that is rotatable together with the crank shaft. A first driven helical gear for is driven by the drive gear and a second driven helical gear is driven by the first driven gear. Support shafts are provided to carry each of the driven gears and a weight associated therewith. A case is provided about the driven gears and carries the support shafts.

摘要： A metal oxide film suitable for protection of metals, composed mainly of aluminum. A metal oxide film includes a film of an oxide of a metal composed mainly of aluminum, having a thickness of 10 nm or greater, and exhibiting a moisture release rate from the film of 1E18 mol./cm2 or less. Further, there is provided a process for producing a metal oxide film, wherein a metal composed mainly of aluminum is subjected to anodic oxidation in a chemical solution of 4 to 10 pH value so as to obtain a metal oxide film.

摘要： A heating and ventilating fan including a frame, a motor with fan blades, a casing, a heating device, and an air path switching plate disposed at an air outlet of the casing for switching outlets of the ventilating fan and a timing motor. The timing motor and the air path switching plate are fixed on either side of a frame wall. The air path switching plate is connected to the timing motor shaft through a connection part, and controls the air path switching plate to rotate by a constant angle in a single direction. A spring having a first end fixed to the frame wall, and a second end rotating synchronously with the air path switching plate controls the air path switching plate to rotate in an opposite direction to the single direction. When the timing motor is switched off, the spring returns the air path switching plate to its rest position.

摘要： A seed substrate is placed to face a formation substrate, and then a gas containing silicon is introduced and chemical vapor deposition is performed. There is no particular limitation on a kind of a material used for the formation substrate as long as the material can withstand the temperature at which the reduced pressure chemical vapor deposition is performed. A group of silicon whiskers which does not include a seed atom can be grown directly on and in contact with the formation substrate. Further, the substrate provided with the group of whiskers can be applied to a solar cell, a lithium ion secondary battery, and the like, by utilizing surface characteristics of the group of whiskers.
