    摘要: A method for detecting a molten metal surface level in a casting mold, comprises inserting an electrode in a slag constituting a layer under a flux floating on the surface of the molten metal, detecting a change of electric resistance due to a temperature gradient of the place at which the electrode is inserted, displacing the electrode to bring the detected value to be always constant within a range of from 5 to 50 .OMEGA., and measuring the degree of the displacement of the electrode thereby detecting the surface level of the molten level. An apparatus for carrying out the method is also disclosed.

    摘要: A method for producing a water-absorbent resin comprising at least two stages of reversed-phase suspension polymerization, wherein the first stage of the at least two stages of reversed-phase suspension polymerization comprises the following steps of: (A) performing a primary dispersion by stirring to mix in the absence of surfactants an aqueous solution of a water-soluble ethylenically unsaturated monomer containing a hydrophilic polymeric dispersion agent with a petroleum hydrocarbon dispersion medium in which a hydrophobic polymeric dispersion agent dissolves or disperses; (B) further performing a secondary dispersion by adding a surfactant to the resultant dispersion liquid; and (C) performing a polymerization by using a water-soluble radical polymerization initiator to obtain a water-absorbent resin as particles in a hydrous gel state which disperse in the petroleum hydrocarbon dispersion medium, and a water-absorbent resin obtained by the method.

    摘要: A purpose of the present invention is to reduce odor of a water-absorbent resin during absorption of water. Such the invention is attained by a process for production of a water-absorbent resin by subjecting a water-soluble ethylenically unsaturated monomer to reversed-phase suspension polymerization. The process comprises the following steps (A) to (C): (A) adding an aqueous solution of water-soluble ethylenically unsaturated monomer to a petroleum hydrocarbon dispersion medium to disperse the aqueous solution in the dispersion medium; (B) adding a surfactant to the emulsion to further disperse the emulsion; and (C) performing the reversed-phase suspension polymerization using a water-soluble radical polymerization initiator, optionally in the presence of an internal-crosslinking agent.
