摘要: A polyester container with enhanced gas barrier properties comprises a polyester composition having an IV of 0.65 dL/g to 1.0 dL/g and comprising a polyester and a reactive organic gas barrier enhancing additive. The polyester is made using at least one first polycondensation catalyst selected from the group consisting of metals in Groups 3, 4, 13, and 14 of the Periodic Table and comprises a catalyst residue remaining in the polyester from formation of the polyester. The catalyst residue comprises at least a portion of the at least one first polycondensation catalyst.

摘要: The present invention relates to an apparatus and process for injection molding polymer articles that reduces deposition of additives on the apparatus. Specifically, pressurizing of the mold cavity with a pressurized gas reduces the deposition of low molecular weight additives on the apparatus. Embodiments of the invention also include an apparatus for injection molding polymer articles comprising at least one pressurized gas inlet for introducing a pressurized gas into the mold cavity.

摘要: A multilayer container having enhanced gas barrier properties comprises at least two outer layers comprising a polymer matrix, and at least one barrier layer disposed between the at least two outer layers. The at least one barrier layer comprises a first polymer composition comprising a polymer matrix and a low molecular weight additive. In a particular embodiment, the low molecular weight additive comprises a purine derivative, such as caffeine, and is present in the multilayer container in an amount in the range of about 0.2 to about 10 weight percent of the container.

摘要: A method for decreasing acetaldehyde content of melt processed polyester comprising combining with melted polyester an organic additive compound which scavenges acetaldehyde from the polyester without imparting discoloration to the polyester. The organic additive compound comprises at least two hydrogen substituted heteroatoms bonded to carbons of the organic additive compound such that the organic additive compound is reactive with acetaldehyde in the polyester to form water and a resulting organic compound comprising an unbridged five or six member ring including the at least two heteroatoms. The reduced acetaldehyde content polyester is particularly useful for making containers such as for packaging beverages.

摘要: Provided is a wireless communication apparatus for a non-orthogonal multiple access communication system. The apparatus comprises: a power adjustment unit which is used, for at least some of user equipment included in the communication system, dynamically adjusting the sending power of each of the at least some of the user equipment for each sub-carrier according to channel state information about the communication system, in order that the at least some of the user equipment perform uplink data transmission on corresponding sub-carriers with the adjusted sending power. According to the disclosed apparatus, method and system, at least one of the following technical benefits could be obtained: increasing the channel capacity of the communication system; reducing the bit error rate during the communication; and reducing the interference between corresponding user equipment in the communication system.

摘要: Overmolded containers and methods of manufacture thereof are disclosed, which may provide enhanced visual and tactile characteristics, enabling innovative packaging designs, improved grippability and thermal insulation. The containers can be made cost effectively manner, with minimal impact on polymer recycling streams. The methods of making the container include the steps of providing a container preform which comprises a thermoplastic polymer, such as a PET copolymer; overmolding an elastomeric material over at least a portion of the preform to form an overmolded preform; and blow-molding the overmolded preform to form an overmolded container. In one embodiment, the overmolded container is a beverage container.
