摘要: A bipolar transistor includes a base region made of silicon crystal doped with a first impurity to a first level so as to establish a first carrier concentration in the base region and an emitter region made of silicon crystal doped with a second impurity to a second level substantially larger than the first level by a predetermined factor so as to establish a second carrier concentration in the emitter region, in which the second impurity exceeds the solubility limit of the second impurity in silicon crystal. The first and second levels are chosen in such a range that a difference in the carrier concentrations between the emitter region and the base region decreases substantially with increasing impurity level in the base region.

摘要: In some embodiments, a temperature information reader is used in combination with a temperature measuring pad to be attached to a surface of an object for measuring a temperature of the object. In some examples, the temperature measuring pad receives a radio wave, generates electric power from the received radio wave, measures the temperature of the object, and wirelessly outputs temperature information including the measured temperature and an ID code give to the temperature measuring pad toward the temperature information reader. The temperature information reader includes, e.g., an antenna portion for transmitting the radio wave toward the temperature measuring pad and receiving the temperature information from the temperature measuring pad, a radio wave generating portion for generating the radio wave to be transmitted toward the temperature measuring pad via the antenna portion, a receiving portion for wirelessly receiving the temperature information from the temperature measuring pad via the antenna portion, a storing portion for storing the temperature information, a display portion for displaying at least the measured body temperature, and an external interface for transferring the temperature information stored in the storing portion to an external device.

摘要: In some embodiments, a thermometer is disclosed that can be used in combination with a reader for reading temperature information of a patient from the thermometer pad. In some examples, the thermometer includes, e.g., a thermal sensor that changes in resistance in response to temperature changes, a memory, and a temperature correction circuit. The memory stores, in advance, a temperature difference between an expected measured temperature as a true temperature and an actually measured temperature corresponding to the expected measured temperature obtained by converting an analog signal from the thermal sensor into a digital signal as a correction value. The temperature correction circuit corrects a temperature measured in an actual use with the correction value.

摘要: A base device is used in combination with an IC tag in a non-authentic article discrimination system for discriminating whether an article to which the IC tag is attached is a non-authentic article. The base device includes an antenna portion for receiving a radio wave transmitted from the IC tag and transmitting a radio wave generated in the base device toward the IC tag, a storing portion for storing information regarding the article, a discrimination portion for discriminating whether information included in the radio wave received by the antenna portion coincides with information stored in the storing portion, and a displaying portion for displaying a discrimination result of the discrimination portion.

摘要: A personal authentication system of this invention has a card reader, in which a bar code reading device for reading a two-dimensional barcode containing personal data, a CMOS image sensor for producing face data by photographing the face of a person, and a fingerprint reading device for producing fingerprint data by reading the fingerprint of the person are assembled as one unit. A personal computer performs a projection transform and a brightness correction to the barcode read by the card reader for acquiring accurate data. Then, the personal data, the face data, and the fingerprint data are compared with database for authenticating the person. Therefore, this invention achieves more accurate personal authentication and leads to improved security.

摘要: A system for collecting data using a non-contact IC chip to manage the data using a computer. An IC chip sends data in a non-contact manner to a reader. The reader receives and stores the data in a memory. When an IC chip of a kind different from the IC chip is present near the reader, the reader sends the data stored in the memory to that IC chip by radio. The data received by the IC chip is supplied to a computer. The reader remains in a stand-alone setting and exchanges data with an IC chip.

摘要: A resin sealed semiconductor device, wherein support pins uphold a pair of facing sides of the semiconductor chip. A projected portion is formed on the distal end portion of the support pin in proximate to the semiconductor chip. The projected portion is formed on both sides of the supporting members which respectively correspond to an upper side and a bottom side of the semiconductor chip in such a manner that when the projected portions are viewed from the upper side or bottom side of the semiconductor chip, they overlap with each other. All of the height of the projected portions are the same. The thickness of the resins formed on both opposite sides of the semiconductor chip is the same with each other, thus preventing the upward or downward displacement within the sealing resin of the semiconductor chip in a thin package.
