    摘要: A sealing device for a roll bearing which includes an outer ring, an inner ring, a rolling element rotatably interposed between the outer and inner rings, and a retainer, comprises a seal holder having a seal holder portion and a seal body attached to the seal holder portion. A portion of the retainer is received in a sealing space defined by the seal holder portion while the portion of the retainer is being disposed outside a range of interference with the seal holder portion. The sealing device further comprises conical surfaces 10 and 19 which are provided as fitting surfaces of a seal holder portion 9a and a seal body 17 fit to the seal holder portion 9a. Accordingly, a space 23 into which one end of a retainer of the bearing is receivable can be formed, and the inside diameter d of the seal holder portion 9a can be reduced.

    摘要: In a toroidal continuously variable transmission unit, a pair of guide surface portions 120, 120 are provided on a trunnion 15 so as to face oppositely each other and to extend in a direction which intersects a rotational center axis of a power roller 11 at right angles and intersects pivot shafts 14 at right angles. When a tangential force along a direction of the pivot shafts 14 is applied to the power roller 11, an outer circumferential surface 110 of an outer ring 28 can be brought into abutment with these guide surface portions 120, 120. By this, the toroidal continuously variable transmission unit with good machinability can be obtained in which the power roller together with the outer ring can be rolling guided smoothly relative to the trunnion by an inexpensive and simple construction while avoiding the offsetting of a shaft portion which supports the power roller.

    摘要: A pair of ball bearings 19, 19 and a roller clutch 20 are provided between the outer peripheral surface of the sleeve 18 fitted and fixed onto the rotating drive shaft of a starter motor and the inner peripheral surface of the pulley element 17 around which an endless belt for starting an engine extends. The roller clutch 20 has a concave section 32 on the inner peripheral surface of the clutch outer ring 30 to define a cam surface 31. After the engine is started, the rollers 33, 33 move toward the bottom of the concave section 32 against the resilient force of the springs 40. And, the rolling contact surface of the rollers 33, 33 is separated from the outer peripheral surface of the clutch inner ring 29. Consequently, the friction heat which would be produced after the engine start is suppressed, and a structure having an excellent durability as a unit for starting the engine of the idling-stop vehicle is realized.
