摘要: A vehicle braking system for use in a vehicle such as an automobile, and including at least one wheel brake, a brake pedal, and a brake applying device such as a master cylinder or a pneumatic booster which is connected to the brake pedal for applying hydraulic pressure on the wheel brake in response to actuation of the brake pedal. A selector valve is connected to the brake applying device and acts, when actuated, to maintain hydraulic pressure in the wheel brake irrespective to the release of the brake pedal. Further, there are provided at least one sensor such as a sensor sensing the running speed of the vehicle, a sensor sensing the actuation of a gas pedal, a sensor sensing whether a seat belt in the driver's seat is fitted on or not and the like, and a controller connected to the sensor for actuating the selector valve in response to a predetermined operational condition of the vehicle.

摘要: In a vehicle brake system including a pneumatic force multiplier apparatus in which a power piston moves by virtue of a pressure difference between atmospheric and negative pressure, a manual brake switch is provided to apply braking force without need for depressing the brake pedal. A controller includes a deceleration calculating circuit reading vehicle speed for every specified number of seconds and calculating the amount of deceleration. The deceleration is compared with a predetermined value and braking force is increased, maintained, or decreased depending on whether the vehicle is running on a downwardly sloping, level, or unwardly sloping road.

摘要: A semiconductor laminating portion including a light emitting layer forming portion having at least an n-type layer and a p-type layer is formed on a semiconductor substrate. A current blocking layer is partially formed on its surface. A current diffusing electrode is formed on the entire surface thereof. A bonding electrode is formed thereon. The semiconductor laminating portion and the current diffusing electrode are separated into light emitting unit portions A, electrode pad portion B, and connecting portions C for connecting between electrode pad portion B and light emitting unit portions A or between two of the light emitting unit portions A, and the semiconductor laminating portion between the light emitting unit portions A is removed through etching to make clearances except for connecting portions C. The bonding electrode is formed on electrode pad portion B.

摘要: A semiconductor light emitting device is formed by adhering a semiconductor layered portion having a light emitting layer forming portion to a conductive substrate via a metal layer. The metal layer has at least a first metal layer for ohmic contact with the semiconductor layered portion, a second metal layer made of Ag, and a third metal layer made of a metal which allows adhesion to the conductive substrate at a low temperature. As a result, the rate of reflection of light from the metal layer increases due to the presence of Ag in the metal layer. Further, the metal in the metal layer is prohibited from diffusing into the semiconductor layer, so that the semiconductor layer does not absorb light. And therefore the brightness of the semiconductor light emitting device can further be increased.

摘要: A fuel injection control system for an internal combustion engine comprises a plurality of fuel injector valves, a pumping system having a suction valve, a discharge valve, and a high-pressure pump section sucking fuel into a pressurized chamber with the suction valve opened on a suction stroke and for discharging the fuel in the pressurized chamber toward the injector valves with the discharge valve opened on a discharge stroke. A relief passage is connected, at one end, to a lowpressure line upstream of the suction valve. The other end of the relief passage is connected to the pressurized chamber. A fuel-pressure control valve is disposed in the relief passage for regulating a fuel pressure of the fuel injected from each of the fuel injector valves by opening the fuel-pressure control valve only for a specified time duration from a controllable middle stage of the discharge stroke to the end of the discharge stroke.

摘要: A bidirectional signal distributing system which can use a sweet sleep system at home without exerting a burden on a subscriber so as to purchase the sweet sleep system. Luminance change frequency data and/or audio change frequency data suitable to shift to a sweet sleep state of the subscriber has been stored in a head end apparatus in the bidirectional signal distributing system. When the subscriber requests a sweet sleep function, the luminance change frequency data and/or audio change frequency data according to the subscriber provided on the head end side is read out, a predetermined video signal and/or audio signal is modulated, and the modulated signal is transmitted to the subscriber apparatus.

摘要: A magnetic recording medium which comprises a non-magnetic substrate, a magnetic recording layer formed on one side of said substrate, and a back coat layer formed on the other side of the substrate. The back coat layer is made of a composition which comprises particles of carbon black, titanium monoxide or a mixture thereof having an average size not larger than 1 micrometer and a resin binder dispersing the particles therein. The particles are individually precoated with an isocyanate compound. When coated titanium monoxide particles are used singly, non-coated carbon black is effectively used in combination.
