First, an ozone treatment is performed to a fluorine-based porous membrane to introduce peroxides on surface. Afterwards, a first grafting polymerization is initiated from the peroxides, and functional monomers are polymerized to introduce halide groups on surface. Finally, a second grafting polymerization is initiated from the halide groups, and macro-monomers are polymerized to introduce zwitterionic group on surface, so as to form the low biofouling filtration membrane.

The asymmetric porous PTFE membrane has an ability to separate each liquid component from a liquid-liquid homogeneous mixture in addition to known properties such as water permeability resistance, gas permeability, sealing property and electric property, wherein change of these properties over time is small.

The present invention discloses a method for characterizing a membrane in a wet condition using a positron annihilation spectrometer and a sample holder thereof. Positron annihilation lifetime spectroscopy (PALS) has been know to be an invaluable tool for investigating local free-volume hole properties in various materials. Accompanying with the method and sample holder disclosed by the invention, PAS and PALS can measure the properties of various materials, such as free volume and layer structures both in the dry and wet states.
