摘要: A number of sound detectors are provided on an external enclosure of a pressure vessel of a nuclear reactor. Output signals produced from the individual detectors are combined into a pattern in terms of time difference of the detector output signals relative to the time point at which the detected signal is first produced in response to the sound signal and relative peak values of the detector output signals relative to the magnitude of the output signal produced by the detector which detects the sound signal with the highest sensitivity. The pattern thus obtained is then compared with patterns which have been previously prepared by intentionally producing the sound signals at locations in interest within the pressure vessel, to thereby estimate the location within the pressure vessel at which the sound is produced.

摘要: A polygonal scanner of the present invention includes a rotary body including a ceramic rotary sleeve and a metallic cylindrical member shrinkage-fitted on the rotary sleeve. The cylindrical member is formed with mirror surfaces constituting a polygonal mirror. A dynamic pressure, air bearing supports the rotary body. The mirror surfaces overlap the rotary sleeve in the axial direction of the rotary sleeve. A hole greater in diameter than the dynamic pressure, air bearing is formed in the top wall of the cylindrical member. The cylindrical member includes a stress removing portion positioned between the mirror surfaces and the rotary sleeve for removing a stress ascribable to shrinkage-fitting.

摘要: A direct-current (DC) brushless motor is provided for realizing an easy winding operation, a flat shape, effective utilization of a magnetic force, improved magnetic characteristics of a stator core, and a good rotation driving efficiency particularly at a higher rotational speed region. The DC brushless motor switches conduction to windings wound around a stator core fixedly disposed corresponding to a rotatable rotor on which a permanent magnet is fixed, to generate a rotating magnetic field which causes the rotor to rotate. The DC brushless motor includes a permanent magnet having n magnetized poles, where n is an even number, a rotatably held rotor on which the permanent magnet is fixed, a stator core having T-shaped pole shoes corresponding to the magnetic poles of the permanent magnet, windings fixed on the stator core and including a plurality of phases for selectively generating magnetic polarities in sequence, a driver circuit for switching conduction to the windings, and a rotating position detector for detecting a rotating position of the permanent magnet. The windings are divided into a plurality of winding groups for generating magnetic polarities in a plurality of the windings so as to produce a magnetic repellent force or a magnetic attractive force between all the magnetic poles of the permanent magnet and T-shaped pole shoes of the stator core associated with selected phases by the driver circuit based on a rotating position detected by the rotating position detector.

摘要: Provided is a method and metering system for the determination of active ions emitted from certain active substances such as rayon fibers containing fine particles of tourmaline known to exhibit permanent spontaneous polarization. The method comprises: continuously bringing air free from carbon dioxide as a carrier gas into contact with a bed of the active ion-emitting source material to carry off the active ions emitted therefrom; introducing the air after contact with the source material into distilled water; and measuring increase in the electric conductivity of the distilled water caused by the absorption of the active ions from the flow of the air as a carrier gas. The metering system comprises: a feed source of the non-ionic inert gas; a sample holder to contain the source material emitting active ions; a vessel containing distilled water to receive the air carrying the active ions; a means to determine the electric conductivity of the water; and pipelines connecting these parts for the flow of air.
