    摘要: In a method of controlling a lighting unit of a display, a maximum value of ambient light intensity is determined (156). Ambient light intensity is sensed (154) from a first direction relative to the display and from a second direction, different from the first direction, relative to the display. The lighting unit is driven so that light from the lighting unit has a low intensity (172) when the maximum value is less than a first intensity threshold and so that light from the lighting unit has a high intensity, greater than the low intensity, when the maximum value is greater than a second intensity threshold.

    摘要: The invention relates to a gloss coated multifunctional printing paper that can be used with a variety of office printing equipment including inkjet and electrophotographic and to processes of making and using the paper, a paper substrate; and a pigmented composition coated on at least one surface of the substrate, said pigmented coating composition comprising (1) a first pigment having a BET surface area in the range of from about 50 to about 750 m2/g; (2) a second pigment having a BET surface area in the range of from about 5 to about 49 m2/g; and (3) a polymeric binder, Said coated paper having a coating gloss equal to or greater than about 30% at 75° and a Bristow Absorption length of less than about 180 mm.The coating compositions may contain other additives such as lubricants, optical brighteners and coating rheology modifiers. The coating formulations can be applied to the base stock using any of a large number of coating techniques including application roll with bent blade, rod, air, knife, slot die, curtain spray and gravure. The paper can be used with various inkjet and electrophotographic printing apparatus and techniques.

    摘要: Disclosed are methods and devices for color compensation of a display having a translucent display cover applied to an outside surface of the display. A method may include characterizing a color shift due to the translucent display cover for when there is rendering of an image on the display and compensating for the color shift when rendering an image on the display. The method further may include measuring the color shift induced by the color of the finish, and as described below compensating the red, green, and blue (RGB) levels of the display so that the display image may be presented to the user as originally intended. In this way, the image quality may be substantially optimized for viewing regardless of the lens/cover surface color.
