The present invention discloses a system and accompanying method for directing the movement of an object on an interactive surface through a defined path. The system includes an object embedded with a unique identification code (UID), a movement module, and a distinct pattern of capacitive tabs near the surface of the object that makes contact with the interactive surface, an interactive surface configured to recognize the UID, location and orientation information of an object placed on the interactive surface, and a processor operatively linked to the interactive surface and configured to direct, track and correct the movement of the object along a defined path on the interactive surface by tracking the UID, location and orientation of the object continuously and throughout the movement. A centralized control mode is applied in the present invention, which makes the structure of the electronic hardware within the moving object substantially simplified, which leads to a decreased manufacturing cost, and, from an aesthetic point of view, the logic clearer and easily understood.

The system uses an interactive surface without a visual electronic display with an array of embedded capacitance sensors and RF antennas operatively linked to a computer system, and a plurality of physical objects, each embedded with an RFID tag and a capacitance tab for activating the capacitance sensor, and each marked with a printed language element such as a letter of the alphabet. The present invention provides a method and apparatus for controlling a light-emitting device of a digital keyboard musical instrument. The method includes: detecting a touch action generated by a user upon a key of the digital keyboard musical instrument and generating a touch signal, by a sensor placed underneath the key, and transmitting the touch signal to a processor, wherein the touch signal comprises the magnitude information of the touch action; receiving the touch signal and generating a corresponding control signal in accordance with the magnitude information of the touch signal, by the processor; and actuating the light-emitting device to produce a light-emitting effect in accordance with the control signal by the processor. Since the detection of the touch action upon the key by the sensors is accurate enough to capture all details of the complete key-touching action, the light-emitting effect produced based on this more detailed detection of the touch action is more exquisite and accurate.
