    摘要: Panel for floating cultivation of plants on water, includes parallel grooves at a top side extending longitudinally, adapted for receiving a substrate and a number of plants or precursors in the substrate, each groove extending through the panel from a first top plane to a second parallel plane. The panel includes air chambers at a lower side extending substantially below the second plane, each of the air chambers allowing therein formation of air roots of plants supported in the substrate of the grooves. At the second plane, each groove is spaced apart from the circumferential side wall of the air chamber it debouches in when projected onto a plane normal to the longitudinal direction, each of the grooves including at least two side support surfaces extending parallel to the groove and below the top side, the side support surfaces adapted for substantially completely supporting the substrate in the groove.

    摘要: The present invention relates to an apparatus for placing cuttings of plants in a cultivation medium. The apparatus has a cuttings supply system for supplying a plurality of cuttings, a camera system for identifying cuttings among the plurality of cuttings that are suitable for individual pick up using pattern recognition, a pick-up tool for picking up cuttings identified by the camera system, and a planting system for simultaneously planting multiple cuttings in the cultivation medium. The planting system and the pick-up tool are separate entities. Furthermore, the pick-up tool is arranged for suitably placing picked-up cuttings in the planting system.

    摘要: A linear actuated needle seeder comprising a frame, a seed dispenser assembly further including a shuffler assembly and a capture assembly. The seed shuffler assembly further comprises: an energizeable vibrator having a top portion and a bottom portion, and a seed tray attached to the vibrator. The capture assembly further comprises: a master cylinder supported by the frame and having a cylinder shaft with spaced apart ends operably extending therefrom, a vacuum bar attached to the cylinder shaft, and a slide extending upwardly above the frame and having a slide surface angled in a linearly downward direction toward the seed tray and positioned to enable the vacuum bar to rest thereon and oscillate between an up position and down position in response to the reciprocating movements of the cylinder shaft. The vacuum bar includes a plurality of orifices positioned along the length of the vacuum bar each of which is configured to receive a cannulated needle having a free end and an attachment end such that when the attachment end of the needle is placed in communication with the orifice an air flow channel is established and moves from the hollow interior of the vacuum bar through the cannula and out to the atmosphere.

    摘要: A method is provided for filling seed trays particularly tobacco seed trays, with growing filler material whereby dry pockets are prevented from forming in the seed trays. The method includes partially filling an upright loading device with the filler material in a manner so that the surface plane of the filler material is at an inclined angle of repose with respect to horizontal. A leading edge of the filler material is established and maintained from the front end of the loading device. A seed tray is passed below the loading device so that the forward edge of the seed tray initially passes below the leading edge of the filler material so that the filler material cascades down into the individual pockets of the seed tray at a controlled rate. In practicing this method, the individual pockets of the seed tray are generally completely filled from the bottom up with the filler material before being conveyed under the bulk portion of the filler material, thereby minimizing the occurrence of dry pockets.
